Oh, but he's only joking - well, maybe, so they say. Or sort of joking with Canada, and maybe not joking with Greenland - saying that "ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity" doesn't sound like a joke . . . and um, not sure about what the about Panama Canal thing is?

How do you know, person who joined “today”?
As I said, I have lurked for a while. I found this about 3 months before the election. The posters here were very helpful in helping me understand the extremes of the party. Reading the perspectives on this board has made it easier to illustrate absurdity to my high school and college girls.

Speaking of lurking. What happened to the lady from LA who was an avid poster before the election. She was hilarious.

Your reading comprehension is lacking. I never said anything about you. I was clearly talking about the right-wing posters that have come and gone, all to the ban hammer.
My bad, I confused you with the other poster who I assume was alluding to me being run off. Forgive me for misunderstanding your hospitality.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Greenland’s prime minister said Friday that the mineral-rich Arctic territory’s people don’t want to be Americans, but that he understands U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s interest in the island given its strategic location and he’s open to greater cooperation with Washington.

The comments from the Greenlandic leader, Múte B. Egede, came after Trump said earlier this week that he wouldn’t rule out using force or economic pressure in order to make Greenland — a semiautonomous territory of Denmark — a part of the United States. Trump said that it was a matter of national security for the U.S.

Egede acknowledged that Greenland is part of the North American continent, and “a place that the Americans see as part of their world.” He said he hasn’t spoken to Trump, but that he’s open to discussions about what “unites us.”

This doesn't sound like he is telling Trump to kick rocks. The art of the deal seems to be working.

Danes are extremely polite by nature, so let me assure you—that was a definite no!

What truly amazes me, though, is your belief that Trump is brilliant for threatening peaceful neighbors and emulating his idol, Putin, even to the extent of using force. That’s not negotiating; it’s the behavior of a bully and a tyrant.
