After months of internal arguing among Democrats over whether to impeach President Donald Trump, the dam is finally breaking in favor of trying to remove him from office. The Washington Post reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would announce a formal impeachment inquiry on Tuesday, following a bombshell report that Trump illegally asked Ukraine’s government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, one of his political opponents. (He essentially admitted to having done so over the weekend.)

“Now that we have the facts, we’re ready,” Pelosi said Tuesday morning at a forum hosted by The Atlantic. At 5 p.m. the same day, she was back with more. "The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the constitution, especially when the president says Article Two says I can do whatever I want," referring to the segment of the Constitution that defines the power of the executive branch of the government. Pelosi's message was that checks and balances of those branches are just as central to the Constitution. And one more thing: "Today, I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry," she said at a conference broadcast on Twitter by the Huffington Post. ...

Being friends with someone who directs the DOJ and stated that the IC WB Report didn't warrant any investigation could be considered troubling. He has the credentials for his testimony but his alliances could be put into question.
    So your answer is yes.

    So your answer is yes.
Being friends with someone in power who opposes what is being done can make people question your motive. It isn't a good look. What if one of the witnesses was friends with Biden and was giving testimony and mentioned it. It is a perception.

So being friends with someone you don't like makes Turley a bad person?

In much the same vain as getting a high paying job with a foreign company when you don't seem to have the experience to back it up means you are obviously criminally corrupt...yes.

    Sometimes, perception becomes reality.

Turley has been the most objective witness of the 4. The other 3 witnesses, while very qualified, were clearly partisan Democrats. Why aren't the witnesses being cross examined by opposing counsel?

Why aren’t the GOP questioning the other experts? I just said his statement about being friends with Barr could be considered negative.

And because Turley is a partisan Republican, that makes him objective in your eyes???

The Democrats frothing at the mouth doesn't seem to be helping.

ok, anyone at all should be able to see that the way that question is worded makes that poll garbage. That’s clearly a leading question.

Just think for yourself. It’s so freaking frustrating to try to converse with someone that just parrots anything the find that they think helps “their side”. We’re all in the same boat here. We should want the same thing, for the truth to come out.

Yeah he sounds like a partisan Republican here:

“Mr. Chairman, I testified before in front of you a few months ago, and if you recall, we had an exchange and I encouraged you to bring those actions, and I said I thought you would win,” declared Turley. “And you did. And I think it was an important win for this committee, because I don’t agree with President Trump’s argument in that case. But that’s an example of what can happen if you actually subpoena witnesses and go to court.”

“Then you have an obstruction case, because a court issues an order, and unless they stay that order by a higher court, you have obstruction,” he continued, adding, “But I can’t emphasize this enough and I’ll say it just one more time, if you impeach a president, if you make a high crime and misdemeanor out of going to the courts, it is an abuse of power.”

“It’s your abuse of power. You’re doing precisely what you’re criticizing the president for doing,” Turley proclaimed. “We have a third branch that deals with conflicts at the other two branches, and what comes out of there, what you do with it, is the very definition of legitimacy.”

Is Turley considered a partisan Republican because he doesn't agree with every charge the Democrats have made against Trump?

Sounds like you have a problem with CBS News. Considering that you parroted the Trump is controlled by Putin conspiracy theory for 3 years I'm not sure you have much room to talk.

Bingo. It's all about harming Trump as much as possible for the next election.

If that was the point, the process would be moving much slower.

Dragging out the investigations without ever having a vote on impeachment would be far more damaging to Trump.

They are moving fast because the Democratic Presidential candidates want it done by the end of the year so they can be out campaigning.

The Republicans did the same thing with Hillary. It was all about damaging her for the election.

well if you can’t see the problem with that question and rightfully conclude that it’s a garbage survey question then I’m not sure what else to say to you. You really should read and consider what you decide to bring to the forum. If you bring a decidedly garbage source, no matter where it’s from, you should expect to get push back.

I do think about things and make a decision about what seems likely and discard what seems unlikely. You’re just lashing out because you got caught not doing that. It’s okay, though, live and learn. 😁

They don’t have to ever send impeachment to the Senate. The ability of Senators to campaign wouldn’t be impacted.

The Democrats need to spend the next year just collecting more evidence and releasing it to the public.

This Senate is not a credible jury anyway.

Inform the people and let them decide. Keep digging for information.

Just so I'm clear, you are saying CBS News is a garbage source? You caught me using CBS News as a source? Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean.
