But they sure have no problem wanting that State Sales Tax and Federal Income tax money... and then some states such as California even go so far as forcing the owners to make Strippers Employees and collect FICA taxes from them...

I guess Strip Club DJ's, Bartenders, Waitress', Cooks, Security Staff and Managers just aren't Honorable Citizens...

*sigh*

I am trying to find the online application that I saw that had a reference to it.. But that was weeks ago.

I don't remember if it was the State or Federal app.. But there was a question that asked? "Is this business associated with a sexual nature?" or sum such...

But I can;t find it to save my life now... Since the April 16th deadline for OKC's City Coucil Emrgency loans has past. Thier Application has been removed from thier website and replaced with re-opening the cities timelines.

but let me just say... The question was asked on one of the applications that I read... Also it was an online application that I did not complete because I had to discuss it first because of the sensative nature of both IS it a Sexualy Oriented Business and also the Independent Contractor vs. Employee situation.

Now as to the strippers and Employee question... Let me just tell you a quick little tale.. about waitress'...

and it never fails....

You get a girl that comes in wants to waitress'... You go through all the paperwork, procedure, ID's, Liquor license, W-4 form... The whole nine yards... She gets $2.13 per hour...

She works about 3 hours and decides this just isn't for her so she walks off the job after you did all that paperwork and training only to never see of hear from her again....

and then... and then... 8 months later she shows up out of the blue and says: "I'm here to get my check.".. It never fails.
Why are they coming in 8 months later? Shouldn't the owner have paid them long before that?

They probably never went back until then to pick up the check for those three hours. I've done the same thing somewhere except for the strip club part and never worried with my $20 check.

Sheez.. the owner did cut them a check. Even withheld taxes for their 3 hours at 2.13, and paid their unemployment... and they never came to pick it up.

I guess that you just missed the part where I said the waitress walked out on her shift never to be heard from again for 8 months...

No, I read it. It just seems odd to sit on the check for 8 months. Why not just mail it out and be done with it? Between the ID, the W4, and the process to get approved to serve alcohol, there was bound to be an address. What made holding it preferable to mailing it?

After enough of the returned mail saying no longer at this address... why waste a stamp.

The point I was trying to make is the fact that sometimes waitress don't view that 6 or 7 dollar check as very important but months later when they are strapped for cash and expect you to have that check handy at that very minute, even if it was them that never got it when it was available at the club on payday.

Sooner or later you have got to delete the check to reconcile your checkbook... but to appease this waitress that walked out on you 6 months ago you have to go pull time records from months ago... For a 5 or 6 dollar check...

With all that said about an employee on payroll, can you imagine what life would be like if strippers were labeled as employees...

Sometimes these politicians who make the laws maybe should try working them in real life first...

No more cute stories from me I tell ya.

Didn't see that this was posted so I'll just put this here.

I found this interesting too....to each his/her own on what they like but I can think of a bunch of different things I would much rather do with $100 and 10 minutes of my time.

Well, I think it won't do much good now since things a re-opening, But it does truely show bias and definitely stereotyping.

Just wonder what business is gonna be like going forward now... For one thing, there are no lap dances for at least two weeks until everyone kinda sees how all this pans out.... You should hear girls complaining they are not making any money for miles and miles.

You may be able to get it retroactively. I didn't read the article about it.

I don;t know... A part of me wants to, and the other part wants to let sleeping Dogs Lie... I am really concerned this is going to cause a stir and you don;t want stripper to be employees. It would be a nightmare...

For Example.. We got to Open this Friday May 15th... The Friday day shift at like 17 girls... The Next Day.. Sat Day shift.. We had 2... What are we suppossed to do? Fire them for not showing up? They made their money Friday so who wants to go in on Saturday... F that..

I had an old STDJ joke... Our girls have started a new scheduale policy. They won;t be coming in to work, Customers are asked to mail the money in.

You can;t control these girls. They are a different breed. They come when they want, leave when they want... They drink all day...

How are you going to control a young woman with minimum wage, when a male customer will drop them $1,000, buy them a new car and pay all their bills? Men can;t even control their wives, do you think that you can control a Stripper that knows what shes doing?

I had a girl.. "BABS".. From Sulpher LA. Ironically... I had been looking for a small truck. Only to realize that I could not afford one.... One day she pulls up in a fairly new Ford Ranger... "Nice Truck" I said, "Where's ya Get it?"

"Well" she said, "You know my customer, he died and left me his house in Norman. Well the neighbor next door came over and sold it to me for $500." Here I am doing 6 days a week, 8 hours a day and can't afford a new truck and this girl who work about 5 hours a day about 2 or 3 days a week gets a new house and a $5,000 truck for $500...

I was at one club a few months ago and this girl showed up I hadn't seen in a while...
"How are you, where ya been?"
"I been on vacation"
"Cool, where'd ya go?" Thinking she had gone to the gulf, Galveston maybe...
"Oh, Southern France.. Spain.. Italy"""

The Majority of these girls make more money in a year, than the entire club staff plus the owner put together... And you think that trying to put these girls on Minimum wage is the answer? The club owner is burdened with Payroll as it is... Rent, Utilities. Sales Taxes.. Insurance. Lawyer fees. City Fees and License... And to even consider trying to make all the girls employees would be.. be....

Let me just say this... What do you think would happen the moment that you told a girl that she was going to have to take her clothes off for a salary or hourly wage and that the customer would now have to give his dance money to the bar.... BAM.. Out the door she would go.. When she can make $20 in three minutes... Do you think that she would dance for $20 per hour?

Any Judge that rules they are employees should have to come manage a club for a week.
