He should have been voted out in 2018. Schumer should be publicly calling for him to resign.

Monday the Senate should vote to boot him out if he hasn't resigned.

How would that work exactly? He's the ranking member on the committee, which makes him the chair by rule and custom. By rule, the committee chair must step down if indicted - so he will.

But how else could he be removed from the chair during an ongoing criminal investigation? Is the federal investigation team supposed to have a meeting with the Senate majority leader who would then remove him? That, of course, would be a public action so it would have to be explained (and defended should anyone, i.e. Menendez object based on the rule) - at which time the investigation is now fully public before it is complete. And of course Menendez would, at that time, now become fully aware of it, then allowing him to potentially move to further conceal evidence.

I suspect that had his activity been more to a direct and emergent national security interest it may have been different, but I just don't think that's how this stuff works.

You are just bitter and salty because the Dems will take care of business here and he will be forced to resign from the Senate, while Rs will tolerate any amount of corruption in their midst without making a peep.
