Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Might be a problem with Trump’s bond, lol

Well that will add something new to his next rally- "Damn regulations are killing American industry" lololol

They thought they had skirted NY insurance regulators- so now it depends on what im assuming is the AM Best rating for Knight Insurance Co and if NY allows them to be "Admitted" ( which will take some time i assume ) or "non-admitted" ( and im not familiar w/ NY regulations on non-admitted carriers but if anything like LA - its not backed by any sort of "safety net" akin to what we have in LIGA- La Ins Guarantee Assn )

And if their rating is less than A, then it may not be acceptable- especially if that is spelled out in writing.

Former President Donald Trump's media organization may be a multibillion-dollar entity on paper, but that appears to be no indication of the company's performance — or the kind of executive lifestyle the cofounders were granted when starting the company.

According to their contract, Trump Media & Technology Group's cofounders, Andrew Litinsky and Wes Moss, were limited to cheap flights and hotels as they were entrusted to take Trump's media empire public.

Litinsky and Moss, along with their company United Atlantic Ventures, were sued in late March by the former president. The lawsuit accuses the cofounders of trying to "thwart" an opportunity for the company to go public.

Both Litinsky and Moss were former contestants of Trump's reality show, "The Apprentice." As cofounders, the lawsuit stated, Litinsky and Moss were tasked to set up Trump Media's corporate governance structure, launch Trump's social media platform Truth Social, and take Trump Media public. In exchange, the founders were promised 8.6 million shares of the company. Those shares are at the center of a separate lawsuit that was filed in February by the cofounders.

But Trump's media company is now trying to claw back those shares from Litinsky and Moss, arguing that the cofounders failed "spectacularly at every turn."

As part of the lawsuit, Trump's attorneys included the "services agreement" Litinsky and Moss signed in 2021 that Trump's lawyers now argue is void. The agreement essentially stipulates the work the co-founders will be expected to perform.

Within that agreement are "guidelines for reimbursable expenses," and according to the copy provided in the lawsuit, Litinsky and Moss weren't offered many amenities.

For transportation, the cofounders were limited to "economy, coach or supersave fares with applicable flight insurance." Business class could be booked for international travel, but a "21-day advance purchase is expected, when possible," the contract stated.

The cofounders were also encouraged to keep lodging expenses to a minimum and "to limit expenditures if possible, where under $150.00 per night is typically reasonable for most cities," the agreement said.............

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Let’s say you’re an ardent Donald Trump supporter and you decided to invest $100,000 of your retirement savings into Trump Media because your favorite former president says it’s a “highly successful” company.

Well, if you bought in during last week’s initial public offering at the peak of $79.38 a share, your $100,000 nest egg was worth only $57,000 this week when the stock hit a low of $45.26 after an April Fool’s Day crash — a 43 percent loss in just three trading days.

Not for the first time, Trump has played his supporters for suckers.
The skid came after Trump Media reported this week that it lost $58.2 million in 2023 on sales of just $4.1 million — which suggests that Trump Media is practically worthless.

The shares are bound to collapse further unless some wealthy entity — Saudi Arabia? China? — buys shares to gain leverage over Trump, who can’t dump his own stake for six months……

well now we know trump does cocaine.

Trump media stock is losing bigly on a day when the markets are soaring. It started out about $60 didn’t it? Edit to add: I read it actually started out at about $74.

And it wouldn’t make a lick of difference

Trump could snort a line off a hooker’s arse on stage at one of his rallies and his supporters wouldn’t care at all

and they would say he is doing some jesus's dried skin or some other justification or the thing they do the most ignore it.

Biden has a hard time verbally mentioning anything that is coherent.

    Your response to this?
    ==================
……..Some of these bizarre asides are best seen in full, like this one about Biden at the beach in Trump’s Georgia response to the State of the Union:

“Somebody said he looks great in a bathing suit, right? And you know, when he was in the sand and he was having a hard time lifting his feet through the sand, because you know sand is heavy, they figured three solid ounces per foot, but sand is a little heavy, and he’s sitting in a bathing suit. Look, at 81, do you remember Cary Grant? How good was Cary Grant, right? I don’t think Cary Grant, he was good. I don’t know what happened to movie stars today. We used to have Cary Grant and Clark Gable and all these people. Today we have, I won’t say names, because I don’t need enemies. I don’t need enemies. I got enough enemies. But Cary Grant was, like – Michael Jackson once told me, ‘The most handsome man, Trump, in the world.’ ‘Who?’ ‘Cary Grant.’ Well, we don’t have that any more, but Cary Grant at 81 or 82, going on 100. This guy, he’s 81, going on 100. Cary Grant wouldn’t look too good in a bathing suit, either. And he was pretty good-looking, right?”

Or another Hollywood-related bop, inspired by a rant about Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade’s romantic relationship:

“It’s a magnificent love story, like Gone With the Wind. You know Gone With the Wind, you’re not allowed to watch it any more. You know that, right? It’s politically incorrect to watch Gone With the Wind. They have a list. What were the greatest movies ever made? Well, Gone With the Wind is usually number one or two or three. And then they have another list you’re not allowed to watch any more, Gone With the Wind. You tell me, is our country screwed up?”

He still claims to have “done more for Black people than any president other than Abraham Lincoln” and also now says he’s being persecuted more than Lincoln and Andrew Jackson:

“All my life you’ve heard of Andrew Jackson, he was actually a great general and a very good president. They say that he was persecuted as president more than anybody else, second was Abraham Lincoln. This is just what they said. This is in the history books. They were brutal, Andrew Jackson’s wife actually died over it.”

You not only see the truly bizarre nature of his speeches when viewing them in full, but you see the sheer breadth of his menace and animus toward those who disagree with him……

But if you ask Trump himself, these are just examples that Trump is smart, he says.

“The fake news will say, ‘Oh, he goes from subject to subject.’ No, you have to be very smart to do that. You got to be very smart. You know what it is? It’s called spot-checking. You’re thinking about something when you’re talking about something else, and then you get back to the original. And they go, ‘Holy shirt. Did you see what he did?’ It’s called intelligence.”…….

Jim Jordan Demands Major Ad Companies Explain Why They Won’t Advertise On Truth Social

Jim Jordan? That's the guy who sent a letter to the CIA/DOJ accusing them of interfering in an investigation because they won't let the House Committee talk to a witness, right? The witness has said that no one has told him he can't talk to them, and the CIA/DOJ has said they have no objection to them talking to the witness. Oh, and that's the same Jim Jordan that is demanding local officials investigating Trump explain to him how they are spending federal funds, which as we all know, is clearly NOT interfering in their investigation.

BEDMINSTER, N.J. — As former president Donald Trump escalated his attacks on President Biden’s health and mental fitness last fall, Trump released the first updated report on his own condition in more than three years.

This assessment, however, stood in stark contrast to the relatively detailed reports released by the White House during his term. Instead of specifics like blood pressure and medications, the letter had just three paragraphs without specific numbers proclaiming that Trump was in “excellent health” and had “exceptional” cognitive ability. It did not disclose Trump’s weight.

And after relying on a longtime personal doctor and then two White House physicians who had attested to his well-being in office, Trump turned to an unknown on the national stage to provide this report: Bruce A. Aronwald, a 64-year-old osteopathic physician from New Jersey — and a longtime member of Trump’s Bedminster golf club……

Former president Donald Trump said Saturday that it would be a “great honor” to be jailed for violating a gag order, marking an escalation in attacks he’s made against New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan and other court officials in a case about to go to trial……

Writing on the Truth Social platform on Saturday, Trump dared Merchan to throw him in jail. He also compared himself again to Nelson Mandela, a political prisoner who became the first president of a post-apartheid South Africa.

“If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the ‘clink’ for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela — It will be my GREAT HONOR,” Trump wrote.

“We have to Save our Country from these Political Operatives masquerading as Prosecutors and Judges, and I am willing to sacrifice my Freedom for that worthy cause.”…..

big words from a little man. he would not like it in jail at all. it would knock him down a few pegs. I remember when he said he would run into a school during a shooting unarmed too.

Donald Trump promised to keep billionaires' taxes low at a fundraising dinner Saturday night in Palm Beach, Fla., held at the home of billionaire John Paulson.

A Trump campaign official told NBC News that the former president "spoke on the need to win back the White House so we can turn our country around, focusing on key issues including unleashing energy production, securing our southern border, reducing inflation, extending the Trump Tax Cuts, eliminating Joe Biden's insane [electric vehicle] mandate, protecting Israel, and avoiding global war." NBC News requested to have a reporter present at the fundraiser, but the campaign refused.

Trump's campaign told media that the fundraiser yielded more than $50.5 million for Trump's campaign, his political action committee, the Republican National Committee (RNC) and state parties - although that total has not been independently verified. If Trump's numbers are accurate (reminder: a court found that Trump committed fraud by lying about his net worth), they would set a record and nearly double the $26 million Biden brought in during a New York City fundraiser with former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

Biden is still ahead of Trump in dollars raised. In March, Biden outpaced Trump in funds raised by a significant amount. Biden and the Democratic National Committee brought in $90 million combined last month, while Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $66 million. At the end of March, Biden had almost $100 million more in cash on hand than his GOP rival........

All indications are that his latest fundraiser at MAL was *not* what he said it was.

There was ZERO chance they were going to say this got less than the 25 million Biden raised

And in true Trump fashion, not only was it just more than Biden's haul, it was double!

Biden should host another with Hollywood bigwigs and claim they raised 100 million, just to see how Trump tries to one up it

I'm calling BS on the 50.6 million haul as well. Doubling up Biden's fundraising total from his big event is exactly Trump's MO. We'll see it when they file their paperwork, but by then nobody will really pay attention to it.
