Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell endorsed Donald Trump for president on Wednesday, a remarkable turnaround from the onetime critic who blamed the then-president for “disgraceful” acts in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack but now supports his bid to return to the White House.

McConnell, who was the last top GOP leader in Congress to fall in line with Trump, declared his support in a short statement after Super Tuesday wins pushed the GOP front-runner closer to the party nomination.

The two men had not spoken since 2020 when McConnell declared Democrat Joe Biden the winner of the that year’s presidential election. But more recently, their teams had reopened talks about an endorsement.

“It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States,” McConnell said in the statement.

McConnell said, “It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support.”……..

Not surprised. He said from day one he would endorse whoever the nominee was. Old coward.
Over the decades you can watch the slide right, which seems to be a downward movement, and you can become very concerned about the state of the Democratic Republic known as the United States of America. ☹️

For young conservatives like me, the only choice we've known for president is Trump. While a majority of Gen Z Republicans support the former president, the GOP has a major numbers problem when it comes to my generation.

Polling suggests that only 21 percent of Gen Z identifies as Republican, compared to 36 percent as Democrat. The 30 percent of Gen Z who identifies as independent is unlikely to support Trump in large numbers come November, but Haley’s support among independents could have unlocked a new source of votes for the GOP.

Even if Trump loses this year, which is a strong possibility, the loyalty expressed in this cycle gives me no reason to think we won’t see a repeat in 2028 and beyond. I honestly don’t know what will break through to those who support Trump anymore. The only way to be rid of Trump at this point might be for him to win an election and be precluded from running for a third term...........

I would not at all be surprised if Trump/GOP attorneys are already looking at Monday's opinion to see if they can apply the ruling to enforcement of the 22nd amendment.

The adjudicated rapist is having trouble raising the money for his bond in the Carroll case. What will he do when it comes time for his fraud bond? 😁

if it was 20.00 he would have trouble raising it because he just does not want to pay it. I am sure he could and has bulked someone for the money already.

Like the poster says, there’s a lot more that can be said about Trump, who is undoubtedly one of the worst people this country has ever produced. How can anybody want this man to lead anything?

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said Thursday that he would not vote for former President Trump in the upcoming presidential election this November.

At an Axios event, Hogan said he would vote for neither Trump nor President Biden and would instead seek out a third-party candidate..........

Didn’t he already say he would vote for Trump? Happy he has come to his senses.

So, he sued Steele’s company in England over the Steele Dossier and had his suit thrown out, required to pay around $380k in legal fees to Steele’s company. He sued Hillary Clinton, Steele, and some FBI officials in Florida, that case was thrown out in 2022. The judge in that case said that Trump couldn’t prove any of the conspiracy theories about the Steele Dossier. Lol
