Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Did you even read what you posted?
He doesn't comprehend that the executive orders are about when the "knowing manufacture, reproduction, sale, or purchase for resale" of the seal is allowed, so he thinks that if the executive order allows the seal to be reproduced for the use of the President, that means the President can use it for literally anything, even though U.S. Code § 713 clearly begins "whoever", and not "whoever, but not the President, because he can totally pimp out the seal for explicitly personal non-governmental use, that's definitely what's intended here".

Yep. 18 U.S.C. 713 doesn’t apply to the president.

You sure about that?

Whoever except those promulgated by Potus and in Federal Register,....

its anyone unless expressly written consent to do so. It only excludes POTuS if he excluded himself from this law and its in the Federal Register.

That's how it works. Now if you find the written consent where Trump authorized the usage for his private dinner, then he was well within right.

If you dont, then he was in violation of the statute.

Pretty simple stuff here.

Ending a war in 24 hours is tricky – as self-proclaimed peacemaker Donald Trump is discovering. Even four months isn't a long time when the conflict you’ve offered to help resolve involves a maniacal head of a nuclear-armed mafia statedetermined to take over a plucky democratic neighbour.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to wave a white flag presents a serious obstacle not only to Trump’s peace plans, but more importantly, to his hopes of a Nobel prize– an award that the narcissist in the Oval Office desperately wants and thinks he deserves.

For Trump, the global gong would be the ultimate recognition. It would make him only the fifth US president ever to win one.

His nemesis, Barack Obama, had been in power for less than eight months when he was awarded his, in 2009; his acceptance speech came days after he had sent an additional 30,000 US troops into Afghanistan and launched drone attacks on Pakistan, all part of his expansion of the war on terror.

In Trump’s bid to be the one to bring peace to Ukraine and Russia, he has a rival. There is now another US citizen of the world in the running. Step forward, Pope Leo XIV…….

Let's all take a moment on this Memorial Day to appreciate a message from the President of the United States 🫡

That's a joke, right? Please tell me this is not a real quote?

Not completely accurate, but the gist is there.

"Meanwhile, it also took two months for me to realize the enormity of what my father had accomplished, and the weight of the job that he’d won. It was the day before the inauguration, and we were driving into Arlington National Cemetery, where he was to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I rarely get emotional, if ever. I guess you’d call me hyper-rational, stoic. Yet, as we drove past the rows of white grave markers, in the gravity of the moment, I had a deep sense of the importance of the presidency and a love of our country. I was never prouder of my father than when I watched as he stood before the tomb, his hand over his heart, while the Army bugler played 'Taps.'

In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we’d already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we’d have to make to help my father succeed—voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were 'profiting off the office.'"

completely disconnected. They have no idea nor do they give 2 shirts about how the other 99.999% live and die.

For them, the life of privilege has warped them so much, they cannot even contemplate the enormity of sacrificing ones own life for country/ideals/democracy.

And the GOP voting base doesn't care. This quote is nearly five years old.

Nothing he can't make about him

Memorial Day speech

And I’ve said before I hate that the Olympics, Workd Cup and 250th birthday all happen during his watch
