Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

We all have that one picture of ourselves that we simply can't stand. But Donald Trump has the power to do something about it.

The Colorado state legislatures agreed on Monday to “immediately” take down a painting of the mercurial president that he had blasted on Truth Social as "distorted" and "the worst."

State Democrats said the request came from their Republican colleagues, who apparently felt moved by the pleas of their leader.

"The [Democratic] speaker and majority leader are focused on keeping Coloradans safe and reducing costs, not hanging portraits. If the GOP wants to spend time and money on which portrait of Trump hangs in the Capitol, then that’s up to them," a spokesperson said.

Republicans haven’t always been against the portrait Trump found so offensive. Painted in oils by Colorado artist Sarah Boardman during Trump’s first term, it was funded through a Republican-run GoFundMe campaign, approved by the state GOP, and has hung in the capitol's Gallery of Presidents since 2019................

A British-born painter has said that Donald Trump’s accusations that his portrait was distorted have put her business in “danger”.

Artist Sarah Boardman’s painting of the US president has been hanging in the Colorado State Capitol Building Rotunda in Denver for more than five years, until being taken down after Mr Trump’s comments last month.

She had remained silent following Mr Trump’s remarks before issuing a statement saying: “I completed the portrait accurately, without ‘purposeful distortion’, political bias, or any attempt to caricature the subject, actual or implied.

“I fulfilled the task per my contract.

“For the six years that the portrait hung in the Colorado State Capitol Building Rotunda, I received overwhelmingly positive reviews and feedback.

“Since President Trump’s comments, that has changed for the worst.

“President Trump is entitled to comment freely, as we all are, but the additional allegations that I ‘purposefully distorted’ the portrait, and that I ‘must have lost my talent as I got older’ are now directly and negatively impacting my business of over 41 years which now is in danger of not recovering.”………

Well, nothing matters as long as Donald gets his huge ego-propping parade on his birthday. That we get to pay for. Anonymously sourced, so who knows? But it fits his MO.

“Donald Trump may finally get his long-desired military parade through the streets of Washington.

The Washington City Paper, citing an unnamed D.C. source, reports that the president has chosen June 14, 2025—the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Flag Day, and coincidentally also his own 79th birthday—as the big day. If it goes ahead, the four-mile procession would go from the Pentagon in Arlington to the White House.”

Headline: Golf Pro Donny Trump killing it, wins another tournament at his golf course. MAGAs wriggle in response.
Stand by…Breaking News: Trump Administration Scientists declare that the Moon (recently renamed Donny’s Ego) is actually made out of cheese!

Conservative media critic Steve Krakauer suggested that President Donald Trump was “thinking a few chess pieces down the board” when he skipped the dignified transfer of four dead American soldiers to attend a Saudi-backed LIV Golf event at a Trump golf course, prompting a NewsNation anchor to applaud Krakauer’s analysis.

“Golf diplomacy, I like that,” Anna Kooiman reacted on Monday.

The president was on the receiving end of blistering criticism after he departed for his Mar-a-Lago estate on Thursday afternoon to attend a dinner with LIV golfers and a tournament over the weekend.

Besides taking heat for sending Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in his stead to receive the remains of soldiers who were killed in a training accident, Trump was also lambasted for leaving Washington for a long weekend after his “Liberation Day” tariffs rocked international markets and created economic turmoil across the globe.…….

He clearly looks worse than he did even a few months ago if you go by recent pictures. He had some sort of bruise on one of his hands that looked like he may be on blood thinners.

We’ve never been told the truth about his physical condition - not even close. Not to mention his mental conditions.

We used to believe that the people had the right to know about any health issues of their leaders, it was part of making an informed voting decision. I guess we don’t believe that anymore.

We only believe it when its “the other guy”.

Yeah, go back and look at comments on this board after the first presidential debate last year, clearly Democrats were in denial.

Hell, even before that debate just about everyone on here was saying they hoped Biden wouldn't run again because of age. We just also said he's still more competent than Trump even with the age decline. Which is still true today.

I will take your word for it as far as people on this board. But fact is he was clealry in decline and yet the party was ready to put him back in the oval. Party leaders and many in the media were either in denial and/or were just gaslighting the public.

So I dont disagree that the parties need to do a much better job vetting candidates. We need to nominate the best and just not the next person in line. We are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Those of us with brains and not on a mission of self destruction believe that’s important to know. 🤔

Bothsidesism at its finest, Joe. Only one party continued to endorse a mentally declining man close to 80 years old, and that's the party you keep voting for.

The difference between Biden and Mr Armageddon is so stark it’s an easy way of figuring out who in this country is so selfish they’ve left reality or have a group death wish, but are too challenged to recognize their path. 🤔
