I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.


That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?






Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

I don’t understand this action against Apple News. I have it myself and I can assure you that WSJ is featured prominently. So much so that sometimes the only coverage of an event comes from WSJ. They also feature Fox News, which I easily blocked. The Washington Examiner is also featured - also blocked by me, but that was my choice. WaPo and NYT aren’t leftist publications. Neither is USA Today, nor CBS News. All featured on Apple News feeds. It’s all BS.

That's all well and good, Mr Brown, but y'all utterly failed us this last election cycle. Cheato is certifiably insane, demented, senile and confused but it was never reported. Remember when he was going to do a question-answer appearance but just trailed off, set down the mic and shimmied around onstage for 20 minutes? Remember how his 'education' speech went a half an hour before he even said the word education?
All you really had to do was present him unabridged but you failed to do that, you insisted on covering it up, acting like it was all normal and moving on to the next thing. This was in every form of media.
Even now, there shouldn't be anything on your lips but Epstein. 24/7, 365 if that's what it takes. This is a horrific scandal so far beyond Watergate you can't even see it from there. The M'fing President of the United States is a pedophile! He's forked children and you can't be arsed to hound him about it? It should be the defining arc of this Administration. Yet you're on about the Olympic hockey teams now or Greenland or some such tripe.

Screw you and your ivory tower prattling until you publish the files, unredacted save for the names of the victims.

People should play close attention to what he's actually saying. He's not praising all journalism. In fact, he's critical of the immediate gratification forms of journalism. Those forms of journalism exist and dominate, because that's what most people want the most.

He points out that the type of journalism that people say doesn't exist still does exists, you're just not going to find it on network news, cable news and the internet. If you go to a bread vending machine, don't expect to get coffee from it. I know that I'm getting much better quality news journalism by relying only on AP written reports.
