This is going to need a thread as we move forward - there are now clear signs that Trump supports a new, critical if not dubious approach on vaccination, and his HHS nominee RFK Jr. regularly espouses eating raw milk and raw meat . . . dietary components most experts agree are more dangerous than their heated counterparts.

Health is certainly one of those areas were anti-institutionalism and turning to popular influencers over medical science comes with genuine risk of harm.

Today Trump provided his most clear indication that he is a vaccine skeptic - claiming (falsely of course) that the USA doesn't "do as well" as other nations that use no vaccines at all.

Just one month after setting a deadline to find the cause of autism, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is already pushing back the timetable.

In April, Kennedy announced at President Donald Trump’s Cabinet meeting that the HHS launched a “massive testing and research effort” that would lead to finding “what has caused the autism epidemic and we’ll be able to eliminate those exposures” by September.

Now, the HHS secretary predicted his department will need another six months to achieve this goal.

While researchers will be able to ascertain “some” information by the original deadline, Kennedy said it will take more time to obtain the “most solid” information, Kennedy told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Thursday. The additional six months would push the timeline to March 2026.

“We’re going to replicate some of the studies that have already been done that look like sound studies. We’ll know a lot from those and then we’ll know a lot more afterward,” he continued.…….

He is a forking idiot.

This doctor nails one thing about MAHA that I hadn’t really articulated to myself. The entire premise puts the responsibility for health on the individual. If you would just eat right and exercise properly, you won’t get sick. This is what allows RFK. Jr to make that heinous statement about measles - that only sick kids should die of measles. People who are sick are that way due to their own failings, even if they get a communicable disease, it won’t kill them if they’re healthy. Of course this simply isn’t true, and it demonizes people who are sick in an evil way.

You also don’t get sick if you’re a good christian, or so some of my family believes.
