Wow. That was edgy.
So you are sitting this one out in November?
If the Dems wanted to beat Trump, IMO, they should have nominated a decent candidate and not been crazy. Instead, 2 years in a row they nominate those they felt were entitled to POTUS and went full left/socialist and lost a lot of support.
I have to give credit to the NPR public editor for calling out her employer and boy does she hit the nail on the head for NPR as well as the NYT, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, & CBS.https://www.npr.org/sections/publiceditor/2020/05/06/850967345/npr-was-too-slow-on-tara-reades-story
NPR says that NPR dropped the ball on covering this.

P.S. I'm still not sure why conservatives who vote for Trump are even sharing an opinion in this thread.
Perhaps because this thread is posted in the MCB where everyone can participate... but I could be wrong.
Do you think my point is that Biden definitely assaulted his accuser? Or that people should not vote for him because he has been accused?Case in point.
We all know that if you're voting for Trump, you're just voting for the 'other' guy with rapey behavior. The one on the team you support.
It's all partisan politics.
You need a candidate that has already been vetted for the general. That did not happen this time around. The Tara Reade stuff was out there, mainstream media chose to ignore it. The primary candidates could have forced the conversation. Things that Biden should have been hammered on, and he will be in the GE: his corporate ties, allegations of wandering hands, plagiarism, and health/failing mental capacity.
Do you think my point is that Biden definitely assaulted his accuser? Or that people should not vote for him because he has been accused?
Serious question. You don't think he was thoroughly vetted in 2008 before being tapped for VP by Obama? If the Tara Reade stuff was out there, you don't think they would have found it during the process? Senate record was wide open then. Or do you think they didn't care then?
I seriously doubt Obama's team looked into these things. I'm also not talking about vetting a VP pick's background, but being able to take the onslaught of criticism, and respond. You find out if the candidate will be able to take the heat in the general. Everyone seems to forget just how vicious the 2008 primary was between Obama, and Clinton. I believe we came out of that primary process with a stronger, more organized candidate because of it. I am not fan of this pillow fighting we have now.
It's not just Tara Reade, a dozen OTHER women complained about the guy according to the WaPo in 2019. He did NOT apologize, only said essentially "Times are different I'll try not to be creepy." That's not a good look. He also left himself no wiggle room on the issue. His answer was this unequivocally did not happen. Yet, multiple sources now are pointing to something happened. Everyone is attacking Tara Reade's character, but Joe has a dubious history with the truth. Biden's lying, and plagiarism ended his 1988 campaign.
This is only one issue as well. He is going to also have to answer questions about Hunter, and his own cozy relationship with big banks.
My biggest issue right now. Where is the guy?
I am very anxious about him as a candidate. I'm also not deluded in the fact that if he steps down, the replacement is going to be someone like Cuomo. Who is arguably worse if you are a progressive.
This should be a slam dunk of an election. A botched crisis that has lead to record unemployment, and an economy in freefall. Biden isn't filling anyone with confidence right now.
The guy was one step from the presidency. They must definitely had to look for stuff like that. You think Obama and his team were going to risk election by not turning over every possible stone for the person who would be second in line to the Oval Office. That's just crazy.
I get it that a lot of progressives and some others are disillusioned and unexcited about Biden. I understand. It's how I felt about Clinton 4 years ago. And I am in no way saying he's guilty or innocent. But there are too much inconsistencies, more so than during the Kavanaugh nomination. And it should make people push pause.
Now, do some Democrats, including Biden, need to be called out for the #BelieveWomen hypocrisy? Most definitely because it's slapping them in the face, just as plenty predicted it would.
You overestimate these things. Look at Sarah Palin as a VP pick at the same time, it's not that heavy of a vetting process. Are you implying somehow Tara Reade planted all of these, along with the dozen other women who have complained about him?
I don't get this. Reade his multiple people backing up her story, along with a court document. There were inconsistencies in both stories. Reade has far more corroborating evidence.
I think this is the problem. I don't think she is lying. The mom calling in, the neighbors, and friends that recounting the story, and the divorce papers that mention an incident in his office. It's almost comical that some of you guys believe Ford over Reade at this point.
A reminder of the huge problems with Ford's testimony: https://www.usatoday.com/story/opin...ries-not-credible-kavanaugh-column/1497661002
And the divorce papers from 1996 mentioned harassment, not assault. So what's the truth?
Are you saying it's OK to sexually harass a woman?
Did I say that?
Then what point were you trying to make, that is was ok if Biden harassed her as long as it wasn't assault?
