Russia continues to mass assets within range of Ukraine - though the official explanations are that they are for various exercises. United States intelligence has noted that Russian operatives in Ukraine could launch 'false flag' operations as a predicate to invasion. The West has pressed for negotiations and on Friday in Geneva, the US Sec. State Blinken will meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Certainly the Russian movements evidence some plan - but what is it? Some analysts believe that Putin's grand scheme involves securing Western commitments that NATO would never expand beyond its current composition. Whether that means action in Ukraine or merely the movement of pieces on the chess board remains to be seen.

VIENNA — No one expected much progress from this past week’s diplomatic marathon to defuse the security crisis Russia has ignited in Eastern Europe by surrounding Ukraine on three sides with 100,000 troops and then, by the White House’s accounting, sending in saboteurs to create a pretext for invasion.

But as the Biden administration and NATO conduct tabletop simulations about how the next few months could unfold, they are increasingly wary of another set of options for President Vladimir V. Putin, steps that are more far-reaching than simply rolling his troops and armor over Ukraine’s border.

Mr. Putin wants to extend Russia’s sphere of influence to Eastern Europe and secure written commitments that NATO will never again enlarge. If he is frustrated in reaching that goal, some of his aides suggested on the sidelines of the negotiations last week, then he would pursue Russia’s security interests with results that would be felt acutely in Europe and the United States.

There were hints, never quite spelled out, that nuclear weapons could be shifted to places — perhaps not far from the United States coastline — that would reduce warning times after a launch to as little as five minutes, potentially igniting a confrontation with echoes of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

If you think that's what's happening. I don't buy the story the way it's presented in the tweets.
Exactly. His sources are absolute garbage. He posts from the NY Post and The Blaze, even though he claims that corporate media is garbage. He doesn’t mind when they post stuff he desperately wants to believe. And GG isn’t an honest broker any longer and everyone who isn’t hopelessly lost knows it.

For example, The Blaze has this report from Media Bias/Fact Check:

“A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. See all Questionable sources.
    • Overall, we rate The Blaze strongly Right Biased and Questionable based on the promotion of conspiracy theories and numerous failed fact checks.”

This was part of the disastrous Tucker interview with Putin. Tucker was lectured and mocked by Putin.

This little bit of revisionist history about Nazi Germany shows Putin sympathizing with Hitler and giving the sort of gaslighting about the invasion of Poland that he used for his invasion of Ukraine. And Tucker kissed his butt and looked like a limp-d simp.

If you call what that was “journalism”, you are also being a useful idiot for Putin.
It was fine for the corporate media to interview Putin and others, but the freak out by the left and the media is due to not being able to control what the public hears from Putin.

Clown show responses again. Various media outlets make regular requests to interview Putin. Putin himself acknowledged this, and said he has been refusing them. Your propagandists are lying to you.

Like they always do. You never learn.

The corporate media has interviewed Putin before. The only difference now is the corporate media didn't get the interview this time.

Please explain the difference between Tucker and Barbara Walters interviewing Putin.

Was Walters a useful idiot as well? What about Christine Amanpour when she interviewed Gaddaffi? Useful idiot?

Since when did people on the left get scared of interviewing world leaders?

I take whatever Putin says with a grain of salt, but I don't see why the left and the media think it's a bad thing to hear from the leader of the country that the US is in a proxy war with.

Who said that it was a bad thing to have an interview? Nobody.

What was being said was that Putin was extremely disrespectful of Tucker, and Tucker took it. He openly ridiculed Tucker, and all Tucker did was kiss his butt. That isn’t journalism.
