Until 2020 I was always an Election Day guy, I would go early in the morning then go to work

I felt like i was a part of something and I was really a part of the process

Part of that was it was never a hassle or toow too long. 2008 was the longest I ever waited to vote (over an hour and that was first thing in the morning)

Did mail in for 2020 and have been doing it that way ever since (actually fill out the ballot then drive to the drop off box right in front the election center)

Hoe do you cast your vote?

Did mail in 2020, always in person before, mostly early. My state doesn’t acknowledge receipt of mailed ballots, so I’m back to early voting. Waited about 15 minutes this year on the 3rd day of early voting.

In person on election day. No early voting in Alabama. I did notice this on the SoS website. Is this normal for mail-in voting?

"An absentee ballot returned by mail must be received by the Absentee Election Manager no later than noon on election day. If hand-delivered, the ballot must be in the office of the Absentee Election Manager by the close of business (but no later than 5 p.m.) on the day prior to the election."

State-dependent. Some just go by postmark I think, others allow a few days to receive the ballot.

I'm not sure how they handle early voting in the rest of Texas, but at least in Bexar County, where San Antonio is at, they do early voting well. There are a lot of polling locations, they're open until 7 pm, and you can go to any one. They do it for 12 days and cut it off 4 days prior to election, thus making it easy to vote. You have to jump through hoops and have a "valid reason" if you want to do mail-in-voting. I don't think I've actually voted on election day here in San Antonio.

100% mail in here in Oregon since 1998.

I think I read there have been like 350 illegal ballots cast in that time in all those elections.

The hardest part is finding a pen.

It is really sad that there can be such a variance in voting access. Like criminally sad.

The last time I voted in person was 2008. I remember taking my older son (who was 5) to the booth with me (he’ll vote this year). Since then it’s all been “mail in,” but I usually just drop it off.

You left out the 'nun'ya damn business" option. Just kidding. I usually do either mail in or early voting. I have been known to procrastinate on occasion and vote on election day. You didn't have an all of the above option either. Typical pollster trying to shoe horn people to fit their agenda. Just kidding again.

This election i will early vote. I have been working the elections since 2020, so depending on if i am working my precinct or not depends on if i early vote or not. If i am working my polling location i will be there anyway so no need to early vote. this election i am not working my polling location.
on a side note, since i've been working the polls on election days, i haven't seen 1 attempt at someone trying to illegaly vote. matter of fact, i haven't worked with anyone that has been working the polls for years that can say they have.

The biggest issue i see a lot is people just don't know what location they are supposed to be at. But since the Geaux Vote app, it is easy to look them up. I actually had someone tell me once that me being able to look up his information should be illegal... i'm like, its public information...

I vote exactly the way you do including that drive to the elections office. I've never mailed a mail in ballot.

From the car it's about ten steps to the drop off box, or 40 steps to the ballot box inside of their office. If it's late in the day I walk it inside so that it won't be left in that outside box overnight.

i have been seeing on socail media people posting rules about what you can't wear to go vote.
so many people respond with stuff like they can't tell me what i can and can't wear, they are trying to take away my freedom of speach, etc.
I posted a few times saying, please please wear you MAGA stuff to the polls. i want them to look like Karens while they cry like a baby because they can't follow rules...
of all the elections i have worked, not one person has violated this. but this seems like the election for it to happen..

I spent 30 years voting by mail in Minnesota and thought that was a norm, until I moved to Texas which is completely hostile to mail in voting. 😡 They do have early voting which is better than same day voting.

In 2016 I saw an old farmer (we voted early in a rural area of our county) try to wear a MAGA hat to vote. The little old lady working told him he had to remove it. He was tall - a big man. He growled at her, and said he wouldn’t take it off. She was barely 5 foot tall - but she didn’t budge. Told him he couldn’t vote. He grumbled some more, but he took it off and shoved it in his pocket.
