Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Well, if you ask me, the entire Jesus story is made up, but, every Bible version of Matthew 2:1-13 mentions Joseph, Mary, and the child; and an angel telling Joseph, after the magi have left, to flee to Egypt.
Which is irrelevant. There are no records of the alleged murder of babies during Herod’s time as a client King under Roman occupation. The alleged flight to Egypt does not appear in John, Mark nor Luke.

Actually your theory that Matthew Mark Luke and John made up stuff regarding an old myth is really ignorant.
Even NON Christian historians recorded that Jesus was born in Bethlehem and Jesus did grow to become an adult who was crucified. This is documented by more than one SECULAR historian.
Oh boy. The literary dependence of the Gospels on earlier scripture is very well documented, and there are no independent secular records corroborating any of it, period. I’ll leave it there, but happy to take it up on the religion board.

Because it’s a non-historical story based on the Moses story in Exodus where the male babies were killed (which was also non-historical).

Again, I personally think the Jesus story is made up, but the story does appear in Matthew.

And to be clear, I am nor arguing the veracity of anything here. I was replying to a post that mentions Jesus was a brown eyed refugee, and I am saying not even the stories show it.

Provide links for these historians. There is little to no actual evidence beyond after the fact claims. I happen to believe that he did live because making something up out of whole cloth is probably much harder.

Yeah, if you actually go read the referenced passages you’ll find that none of that is accurate. Really bad AI.

There are two relevant passages in Josephus’ Antiquities, written about 93. The authenticity of both are questionable, but they at best repeat Christian dogma (the longer passage seems derivative of the Emmaus narrative) as opposed to providing independent witness.

Tacitus was writing around 115, not 55. He references “Chrestians” who worshipped a “Christus” they believed was executed under Pilate. No mentions or corroboration of a “Jesus,” just a recital of Christian dogma.

Pliny the Younger wrote a letter to Trajan circa 112 mentioning he had encountered some Christians but was unfamiliar with them or what to do with them. No mentions of “Jesus” or crucifixion.

Suetonius didn’t write about Jesus or the crucifixion. He made a brief mention of a Jew named “Chrestus” who was causing trouble in Rome in the 40’s.

Thallus also made no known mention of Jesus or the crucifixion, only an eclipse at an indeterminate point in time that Christians centuries later then attributed to the crucifixion.

Huh.
It doesn't shake my faith but thanks for your post.

We've seen this show before

"This is 100% percent true!"

"Proof?"

"I'm not doing your research for you!"
Yup.
I felt bad about that.
While you were posting I found this....

The election is over, I don’t know why this thread is still actively being replied to. She was a very weak candidate and Biden would not have won either.
