Meant to post this when the Scott Adams/Dilbert story broke

Who are far right celebrities that you are aware of?

I think Jon Voight is probably the granddaddy of them all with James Woods not far behind

    There's Ted Nugent for sure

Hercules' Kevin Sorbo and Lois & Clark's Dean Cain

Scott Baio had his moment at the RNC, I haven't heard anything from him since

I'd add Kanye West but he more seems to be just losing his mind

I'm pretty sure that Drew Carey, Tim Allen and Kelsey Grammer are conservative Republicans (which is fine) but as far as I know none of them went off the deep end

Roseanne Barr seemed to go full far right

Growing Pains Kirk Cameron is super religious, but I've never heard him comment on anything other than religion (it would just be an assumption that someone that religious is far right)

The pandemic opened the doors to some anti-vax, conspiracy minded celebs which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with politics

    Those would include:

    Person of Interest's Jim Caviezel
    Black Panther Letitia Wright
    Lost's Evangeline Lilly

    Think of anyone else?

    And more:

As a Presbyterian elder, Aldrin was the first and only person to hold a religious ceremony on the Moon. He radioed Earth: "I'd like to take this opportunity to ask every person listening in, whoever and wherever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours, and to give thanks in his or her own way."[78] Using a kit given to him by his pastor,[79] he took communion and read Jesus's words from the New Testament's John 15:5, as Aldrin records it: "I am the vine. You are the branches. Whoever remains in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me."[80] But he kept this ceremony secret because of a lawsuit over the reading of Genesis on Apollo 8.[81] In 1970 he commented: "It was interesting to think that the very first liquid ever poured on the Moon, and the first food eaten there, were communion elements."[82]

It was meaningful for me that Arnold Schwarzenegger has endorsed Harris.

When he was my governor it was a bit rocky most of the time, but he did adapt some and make a good exit. It was him more than anyone else who set the stage for legal recreational use of marijuana in our state.

That kind of saved his reputation around here, now he's pushed off from that good ending to go on to an even better path with Harris. (y)

This is metaphor for the way I'm dealing with RFK jr.

The momma bear is watching that exchange closely. She's OK with it because the man is acting like a proper male bear. He's not allowing her cub to come too close.

That's the way a male bear is supposed to act, and if they don't, watch out. Momma bear will get involved the moment her cub gets too close to him. He knows that, so he's being a good adult male bear.

On edit: this one is metaphor for Dick Cheney endorsing Harris. And the male bear is most civilized, a proper good bear, he was just petting the human a bit. Like a human would pick up a kitten to smooch.

Famed Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin on Wednesday endorsed Donald Trump for president, citing Trump’s prioritization of space exploration while he was in office.

“Over time, I have seen our government’s approach to space wax and wane,” Aldrin wrote in a statement. “But under the first Trump Administration, I was impressed to see how human space exploration was elevated as a policy of high importance again.”

Aldrin pointed to a number of Trump-era policies, including creation of the Space Force, in the statement. He also shouted out billionaire entrepreneur and major Trump backer Elon Musk as a visionary for what he called the “private sector space economy.”

Trump and Aldrin’s relationship dates back to at least 2019, when Trump invited astronauts to the Oval Office to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. At the time, Aldrin was critical of the government’s investment in space exploration.

“Actually, I’ve been a little disappointed over the last 10 or 15 years,” Aldrin said at the time, with then-NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine in the room.

Aldrin has been active in Republican politics. He spoke at CPAC in 2016 and has endorsed GOP candidates in down-ballot races as well.

“Most Americans rightly consider it an honor to cast their vote for a leader they believe will best serve the nation,” Aldrin wrote. “For me, for the future of our country, to meet enormous challenges, and for the proven policy accomplishments above, I believe we are best served by voting for Donald J. Trump.”……

"The Presidency requires clarity in judgement, decisiveness, and calm under pressure that few have a natural ability to manage, or the life experience to successfully undertake. It is a job where decisions are made that routinely involve American lives – some urgently but not without thought. The job requires sober analysis of frightening scenarios, and the instinct to lead with resolve. ... I believe we are best served by voting for @realDonaldTrump"

I mean, everything else aside, did Buzz just sleep through the whole pandemic? Decisiveness and judgement? "It’s going to disappear one day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear." Sober analysis? "I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute, and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning?"

The conclusion does not match the reasoning.

    Without thought accurately describes Trump.

I wonder if we are experiencing some sort of mass psychosis event. Regardless, Carlson needs psychiatric care.

I think Tucker is a lying snake oil peddler who's lying about being attacked by a demon. If he sincerely believes he was, then he has had a psychotic break.

There’s a new shirt I’ve seen for sale about the Salem witch trials. It says “They didn’t burn witches, they burned women” on the front and the back is a long list of when women got the right to do various things. Some of them surprised me, I thought it was earlier for those milestones.
