Election Night (+4) in America - Result: Biden Elected President (2 Viewers)

Unfortunately, Trumpers are awfully close to 50% of the population. We have to address some of their grievances, otherwise we'll get another Trump in 2024.

Not if people remember this moment, we wont.. Thsee last 4 years hav made everyone, including myself, realize how sacred and precious our right to vote is.. If we (non Trump loyalists) can continue to sign up even MORE people to vote, especially young people who will reach voting age by 2024, the likelihood of another Trump will continue to decrease.. Combine that with many older, curmudgeonly Trump voters dying off in the next 4 years, and i truly think we can avoid electing a Trump Jr, or a Kushner, or a Ted Cruz, Or a Tom Cotton..... IMO if the Republicans ever hope to have a chance, they have to run someone more Moderate.. maybe someone like John Kasich who, while not ideal, wouldnt be a total nightmare if elected.. But all this hinges on people, who generally have short memories, staying engaged and excited about voting.. We as a people can slack off or be lazy in some ways, but we HAVE to vote, vote, vote.. If the MAJORITY of Americans vote, the MAGAs lose, it’s just that simple.

Not everyone who voted for Trump are Trumpers. This is anecdotal but someone mentioned that 60% of Vietnamese in Orange County voted for Trump. I have friends and relatives who own businesses and work for small businesses there. They are worried about lockdown if Biden is elected. Others are worried about tax increase. People often vote their pocketbooks. Those are the reasons I heard time and time again when I asked why they voted for Trump.

I use to agree with this sentiment but now I can't presume that there is any clear majority either way.

I saw this breakdown, I don’t know how accurate it is. Does anyone know?

The greatest challenge to democracy regardless of where people live is apathy. It is not the snake-oil salesmen as Trump or the demagogues like Stalin or Hitler, it is the people who know that it is wrong and allow it to happen due to either fear, indifference or greed

He doesn't want to do or say anything that interferes with his 2024 campaign. He has already gotten what he needed from being one of the few people willing to risk being Trump's 2016 running mate.

He will never make it out of the primary, sadly, IMO. I think he makes a weak candidate.

Before he joined the Trump campaign, he was widely expected to not win his second term as Governor of Indiana, that’s how bad of an executive he is. He’s horrible.

Anne Applebaum is pretty knowledgeable. At this point the Republican Party needs to step up, there are far too many playing along with this obvious charade of voter fraud. There’s no difference between Trump and the Republican Party anymore, they all need to go.

They aren't going to step up. They will carry this narrative into the Georgia runoffs and throughout Biden's presidency.

    Haha
Sadly, not really, at least as far as the UK goes; while the 5th November is Bonfire Night, people always set off fireworks the weekend before and after as well. Dog owners really hate it.

But I'm sure at least a few people would have been setting them off for Biden though. We're pretty happy overall. Trump was not popular here (with some exceptions; it's not a great outcome for the Brexit bunch).
