(CNN)Dr. Mehmet Oz, a cardiothoracic surgeon and television personality, is running for the US Senate in Pennsylvania as a Republican, according to an op-ed published Tuesday in the conservative Washington Examiner.

"During the pandemic, I learned that when you mix politics and medicine, you get politics instead of solutions. That's why I am running for the U.S. Senate: to help fix the problems and to help us heal," Oz wrote……

He would screw that up by going to the Flyers games, wearing that Jaws jersey while making an Instagram post talking about winning the world series.

First thing Dems need to do in PA is call Oz by his name, Mehmet Cengiz.
Then be polite and ask him if Mehmet Cengiz prefers to debate in his home State of NJ.

CNN traveled to Bedford County, Pennsylvania this week to take local voters' temperature about Republican Senate nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz.

What they found was voters were lining up behind Oz, although they didn't hide the fact that they weren't happy about it.

In fact, some voters said they were more voting against Democratic rival John Fetterman than in favor of Oz.

"People in Bedford County are probably going to hold their noses and vote for them because Fetterman is a dead loss as a candidate," said Bedford County voter Ned Frear.

Fellow Bedford County voter Clay Buckingham went even farther in expressing his dislike for Oz.

"That's my feeling about Oz: I'm sorry I have to vote for him," he said. "But I'd rather see him as a senator than Fetterman."............

The campaign for Mehmet Oz, a PennsylvaniaRepublican candidate for U.S. Senate, reportedly did not inform media outlets, including The Associated Press, that a Black woman at a “community discussion” in September was actually the campaign’s Philadelphia County coordinator, The Intercept reported.

Oz spoke with Sheila Armstrong, who had shared a photo identifying her as a campaign aide in June, and comforted her as she described the shooting deaths of her brother and nephew, severalPhiladelphia-area news outlets reported.

The Associated Press highlighted the event in a story this week and described “chairs arranged a bit like [Dr. Oz’s] former daytime TV show set” and the candidate asking Armstrong how she copes with the tragic deaths.

Brendan McPhillips, the campaign manager for Oz’s Democratic opponent, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, tweeted this week that the AP story didn’t note that Armstrong was “a paid staffer” and that records with the Federal Election Commission back up his assertion that the Oz campaign paid her, The Intercept said.............

Is Dr. Mehmet Oz's empire crumbling? After the star's recent Senate bid loss, the father-of-four is trying to pick up the pieces and reignite his TV career — but it looks like that will be much easier said than done.

"No one in the mainstream will touch him," a source disclosed to Radar. "You can’t alienate half of your audience with a political stance and expect to bring in an audience on your return to television."

While the insider said Oz "impressed" execs over at Fox News and Newsmax, no deals were ever made. And though it's reported he'll be invited for several cameos on right-wing shows, the 62-year-old is more interested in taking up a "daily gig — but it is not going to happen," insisted the source..........

He's even more alienated because he accepted that he lost and admitted because Trump backed him, so now he's not liked by either side..
