Several prominent Democratic figures are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this month, two sources familiar with the plans told NBC News.

President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been confirmed as speakers at the convention. Obama and the Clintons delivered speeches during the 2020 DNC, which was largely held virtually to prevent the spread of Covid-19 amid the pandemic.

A source familiar said that former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson Jason Carter is also confirmed to be speaking as a representative for his grandfather…….

Some of the best comments I’ve seen so far.

(President Nixon is a harsh, unbiased critic)

More from President Nixon (who has been a harsh critic)

And I’m crying, guys. She is absolutely meeting this moment. So much what we need.

So Trump was live-posting her speech on his Truth Social account - and it went off the rails in predictable ways, lol. One of his posts was only this - “Is she talking about me?” Only in ALL CAPS IIRC. lol.

Also, to end this evening - let us remember who is mostly responsible for her candidacy. Who foiled the plans for an “open” convention.

Following up on my previous post, I didn't like who Harris seemed to be 4 years ago. Since her first campaign speech a few weeks ago, I like her and her goals more than any other president except for Carter. I like both of them equally. I like Harris Walz as a ticket more than any other ever. This is what I've been waiting 44 years to see from a presidential ticket.

I thought it was a good, but not a great speech. It had a lot of substance, and hit all the right points, but she isn’t as dynamic of a speaker as the Obamas, which is the standard of a great speech. It didn’t have the catchy phrases that would go viral. However, it was far better than Trump’s, and I think it was the best speech I’ve ever heard from her. I think she improved her chances, because she moderated, and she came off as presidential.

First - there’s no point in comparing her to Obama. Second - you can only be the best version of yourself you can be. Third - she absolutely killed it on those terms.

I don't get the Beyonce worship. Or Taylor Swift's... or any entertainer's.
    that's not worship.
if you want to see worship, just look at MAGAs worship of Trump.
Beyonce and Swift have fans, some over the top maybe, but MAGAs truly worship Trump in ways that dwarfs Beyonce and Swift fans..
