Several prominent Democratic figures are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this month, two sources familiar with the plans told NBC News.

President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been confirmed as speakers at the convention. Obama and the Clintons delivered speeches during the 2020 DNC, which was largely held virtually to prevent the spread of Covid-19 amid the pandemic.

A source familiar said that former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson Jason Carter is also confirmed to be speaking as a representative for his grandfather…….

Stevie Wonder is doing a sound check right now at the DNC. I just turned on the TV to watch Nicole Wallace for a minute and he’s in the background.

I look forward to the day that generationally poor people with white skin also realize they are taken advantage of and exploited by generationally wealthy people with white skin. To wealthy people with white skin, the poor people with white skin are just attack dogs used to keep everyone afraid and in their place. Poor white skinned people have more benefits than poor people without white skin, but the wealth class keeps them in the doghouse "where dogs belong."

For those not aware of it, being born into poverty is almost impossible to overcome, because it prevents the brain from being able to develop the skills necessary to raise oneself from poverty. This is the most insidious aspect of systemically perpetuated poverty. Intentionally keeping people poor is to intentionally handicap them neurologically to the point of making it nearly impossible for them to free themselves from poverty. It's as sinister as it gets.

This DNC convention seems to be doing a good job of getting that message across without alienating white people.

For a long while I've heard Dems inserting race where it has no natural place to the detriment of the overall message. I've seen it among my peers in real time. When the interview or news piece turns to how X affects blacks or gays or insert-minority-here the white folks whom X very much also affects stop listening.

If they can keep the message focused on class, on wealth disparity then the Dems have a great shot. You cannot, by definition, win with only the minority vote. You're going to need the paleface vote for decades yet.

Not only that, they are doing a great job of keeping any "attacks" clearly focus on trump and his agenda, leaving the door open for Independents and other moderates!

The thing is that it's very difficult to talk about class and wealth disparity in this country without talking about race. And it's very difficult to talk about race and the effect it's had on wealth disparity with conservative and moderate white people because of a whole host of reason (it's uncomfortable, it's perceived as an attack, it's just race baiting, etc.). They often feel very aggrieved by any mention of race and wealth disparity. We've known for quite some time that the policies and conditions that have led to the increasing wealth disparity between the rich and poor are often based in racist policies meant to de-power minority communities but also end up having negative effects in poor and middle class white families as well. At least that's the case now-a-days. Before the civil rights act it was easier to be blatenet about it and directly target black communities.

But I think that between Michelle and Barack last night, they've done as best of a job as I've seen at tackling that difficult divide.

In America, skin color, gender and religion are the dividers that the upper caste uses to control and manipulate the lower castes, so on the surface it seems like the exploitation and oppression is based on skin color, gender and religions. The sole purpose of a caste system is to give one very specific group of people power and privilege over everyone else. It's by design and not by coincidence that the top of every caste system is dominated by generationally wealthy people of extreme privilege. Look just below the top caste of every caste system and you will see a group of people who have everything in common with the top caste except for the most important thing, generational wealth.

Definitely true. It's a part of the history of whiteness in this country. Before Irish and Italians for example, weren't accepted as white in this country until the white upper class saw the working class threaten to join forces with black poeple and unionize in some industrial sectors. It immediately became, "why do you want to team up with them? You're white like us."

And it continues. 40 years ago this guy...

...would have been targeted by a group like the Proud Boys. He wouldn't have been their leader.

Here's a link to the youtube channel of the Democratic Convention channel. It's a direct feed when it goes live without any pundits are other things. Also, they have streams for different languages, ASL and audio descriptions.

Showing is always more informative, persuasive and powerful than telling. Obama and Biden showed that a non-white skinned person and a white skinned person could work together with the non-white skinned person having the lead role.

Harris-Walz takes the next step by showing without telling that a non-white skinned woman and a white skinned man can work together with the woman in the lead role.

    LBJ had it right.

“If you can convince the lowest white man that he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

I describe these people as believing that they are temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

"The affirmative action of generational wealth." That is THE bar of the convention and encapsulates the feelings of my demographic. It's really important to understand how powerful that is.

In my belief, part of good politics is being able to read the room, to understand the political climate of the constituents you are seeking to govern. The unwritten rules of political decorum are done, right. That genie can't be rebottled. This climate calls for matching energy.

I, also, believe that smart politicians, like in sports, use tactics that worked for other politicians. Trump successfully allowed persons to express their true raw feelings. Granted, imo, his motives were insidious and those feelings revealed an ugly underbelly but it was, and is, successful. Sometimes, you need to give permission to those who support you and identify with you the space to say how they really feel.

And that is what you got last night from the Obamas. It was them saying Maga Republicans aren't the only Americans who get to express, loudly, what they think. We do too. And this is what we think. You know who are the real "DEI hires?" You know who are the real benefactors of affirmative action? The very same mediocre folks who everyday quietly use their privilege and legacy to personally benefit themselves and then have the audacity to try and lobby against efforts for equality, in the name of meritocracy, cloaking their true intention of maintaining a status quo that keeps certain folks disadvantaged.

As a PoC, that speaks to my American experience on a spiritual level. The affirmative action of generational wealth. Home ownership. Bank loans. Healthcare. Education. Policing. Justice system. The pillars of our society that some want to gatekeep and wall off from others. Things that fundamentally can increase a demographic's success rate at pursuing LLH. And when I scale that mountain, disadvantaged as I am, and achieve success you have the nerve to diminish that by suggesting I didn't accomplish that on merits? And seek to make it harder for people like me to do the same?

Nah! That's projection. And I'm not going high above that anymore. I'm calling it out for what it is. And better yet I'm going to do something about not letting you do that anymore. Powerful shirt for women and minority demographics.
Intergenerational wealth is the greatest privilege of all privileges. The concept of meritocracy is a model, not reality.

Weirdo Mike Lindell thinks he’s in disguise and is arguing with a 12 yo child who recognized him. And he’s not winning, lol.

And now for something completely different:
