    Several prominent Democratic figures are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this month, two sources familiar with the plans told NBC News.

    President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been confirmed as speakers at the convention. Obama and the Clintons delivered speeches during the 2020 DNC, which was largely held virtually to prevent the spread of Covid-19 amid the pandemic.

    A source familiar said that former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson Jason Carter is also confirmed to be speaking as a representative for his grandfather…….

    But I loved this version of Michelle. Never seen her go after Trump like that. They need to put her Trump segment in an add and run it everywhere.

    A very well orchestrated 1-2 punch. I didn't expect Michelle to get into it like she did given her "when they go low, we go high" tagline from the past, a very pleasant surprise for me, and I feel a needed change in her approach; she didn't get in the muck, but she pulled no punches... I did expect Barack to be inspirational, and he never lets you down in that regard; he's the best political speaker I've ever heard in and outside the U.S.

    I don't expect Harris or Walz to do better, just to cement into people's minds why they are the only choice. Just take what the Obamas gave you, and carry it through your speeches.

    I really want to hear Walz' speech.

    It is so refreshing to hear coherence.

    This was the heart of her message, to me. I just loved this and it needs to be in a commercial shown everywhere.

    This passage from Michelle Obama:

    "[Kamala] understands that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward… we will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth.

    "If we bankrupt a business… or choke in a crisis, we don't get a second, third, or fourth chance.

    "If things don't go our way, we don't have the luxury of whining or cheating others to get further ahead… we don't get to change the rules so we always win.

    "If we see a mountain in front of us, we don’t expect there to be an escalator waiting to take us to the top.

    "No, we put our heads down. We get to work. In America, we do something."
