Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer threatened two Supreme Court Justices at a rally today outside of the Supreme Court: "You will pay the price.. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions"

I don't disagree with much of your post and I agree about the no consequences. Most of the people I know that voted for Trump said they don't like some of the things he says, but they could deal with that if he got the things done that they supported. Every single one of them that I know said they were tired of Republicans that talked a good game, but would never get done what they claimed they would once they were in office.

Trump can definitely be divisive, he tweets too much, and he lies and contradicts himself. The Democrats who call people on the right that they disgree with racists can be quite divisive as well.

If Trump is the type of Republican some people want, those people should really be looking in the mirror and questioning the things that they want.

Can you tell me what it is that Trump has done that they support?
Any R president would have pushed the same tax cuts and probably similar scotus nominees
But what do they say trump has accomplished?
I’ve asked this for 3 years without getting much in the way of answers

I think the main thing he's given them is confidence. It's shallow, but don't underestimate the 'bragging rights' narrative, even if actual policy differences that improved the lives of these voters don't really exist.

It is notable that my question remains unaddressed 3 years running
The simple answer is Trump let’s people hate the people they want to hate - that’s really the thing that distinguished him from the other Rs- no code words

But I do find it interesting that Nixon was the last R that people would describe as intelligent
Bush 1 was probably up there but it’s mostly a parade of C students

Just an observation but I see more bigoted hate from the left than I do the right. Truly.

I feel the same sentiment towards anyone who’d want Hillary as POTUS. Or any Socialist candidate from the left.
And I’m not a Trump fan. I do dislike him much less than the prominent Dems? (Socialists) though.

And I could literally go on and on. Not worth it to me tho. Also in my life, my left leaning friends and associates are much more bigoted than the moderates and rights in my life. I was a lib my whole life, and would have aligned with left leaning ideology most of the time. Sadly to me there is no Dem party now, it’s Socialism. IMO.
The left has pushed me right.

Standing up in student union type area on a campus and saying that there are too many people of a particular race in there and having other students applaud.
How does the evergreen drum still have skin on it?
You beat that thing worse than BigE hits Hillary memes
But probably for the same reason

    Just to be clear
You are arguing that you could post your examples of hate from the left - and others could post their examples of hate from the right
And you think you would have more ammo?
    That’s really what you’re saying?

I know that sadly both sides would have plenty of ammo. It’s very sad.

I am not a fan of extremists of any kind or political affiliation. Both ‘sides’ have plenty.

Oh, that wasn't Evergreen. That was this school year at another institution of "higher learning."

Also this past year we had the UGA teaching assistant who declared on more than one occasion that people of a certain race needed to die.

There really is not a shortage of these examples.

Agreed. But people (including me) will see the world thru their own lens. We as a society have such a hard time seeing things from another perspective than our own.

I think there is a fine line between bigotry and racism. And growing up in the deep south theres a lot of "closet" racists, hell even in my own family. As I grew older I learned to detect it, it can be very subtle, or (usually when angry) they use words to try to belittle the person, and claim superiority over them in some psychological way. I think Trump enabled them to be more bold and brash about what they were really thinking, a lot less political correctness so to speak.

I feel like the term 'socialist' gets conflated with annoying SJW's (the ones who actually ARE going around trying to stir divide) and I don't think that's accurate. Maybe we can have another thread dedicated to the disputes over views on socialism in the US.
