Biden stepping down - now what? (5 Viewers)

He recognizes that it jeopardizes his ability to be reelected but it doesn't really tell us what happens with it post election. Probably doesn't play as a main main focus like abortion, but I think Democrats are not endangering themselves by bringing it up.
Instead of focusing on 2025, folks should focus on how delegates are just going to be lifted and shifted to someone none of them voted for.

Seems like one of those “if they did it before, they could do it again” situations.

I imagine there's a focus being placed on that right now. I thought you were referring to the general strategy.

Which states are considered a tossup/purple? Maybe the VP pick should come from a 'purple' state, to possibly help tilt votes in their favor? (I don't know if that kind of strategy actually works)
I left for a few hours and the thread grown. I didn't see anyone answer your question. The battleground states are considered
to be AZ.Nev,and Ga, The swing states are PA,Mch,and Wsc. These six states are critical to both parties.

The above said this was before covid and before the Dobbs decision. I wouldn't be shocked if Harris pulls all six.

I think we need to revamp the system but I think part of the problem is the abuse with good insurance. I have friends that have insurance through Louisiana. They have a state job. They go to the doctor for any and everything. If their eye itches they go. I’d say why are going to the doctor for every little thing. Their response is our co-pay is $15 and emergency is $100. They do t realize what the doctors charge for that $15. I know many people like that. I have great insurance with a co-pay of $25 and haven’t been to the doctor in 5 years.
So how do you dissuade them?

To them, that's a "perk" of taking a state job. So that is really not debatable for them.

I pay 1800/money for $50 co pay and $750 er. Last month my youngest sustained a concussion at cheer camp that required er visit to clear her ( primary nor urgent care would/could do exam) so, $750 it was. To then have a response the ER Dr didn't like and ordered a CAT scan. I'm waiting on THAT bill now. So it will probably cost me over $1100 total to clear her. I pay 1800/mo for what? How is that remotely equitable? And luckily I'm able to absorb that cost. There is 98% who cannot. It's out of control and needs to be reigned in.

1- the fact that adults are making these life altering decisions for kids is the crazy part. All of it should be outlawed until they are at least 18. It’s gross and detrimental

2- when my 16 year old daughter walked into a target bathroom 2 weeks ago and there was a dude in a dress in the mirror putting on eye makeup, it scared the hell out of her and she left. So yes I’ll die on that hill l, you can be ok with it I’m not

3- it’s not a teachers or schools job to decide anything for my child without my knowledge or approval. The government, state or federal should not be allowed to decide for kids without their parents consent.

These are things that I won’t change and there are more people than you think that agree
    1. Nobody is making decisions for the minor child. The patient has to be fully informed and totally on board. Nobody starts out with irreversible therapies either. You outlaw all this treatment until 18 there will be certain children who never make it to 18. You are fine to withhold this treatment from your own children, nobody will ever force treatment on your children. What you are saying is the government needs to withhold it from everyone’s children. Even if they commit suicide before they reach 18.

    2. I’m sorry she was upset and scared. Still government mandates are not needed.

    3. What you are saying is that you don’t care if some children are abused and made homeless because of this law, you want what you want and to hell with everyone else who isn’t in a good family situation.

We pay a lot now. Studies show we have a very inefficient and costly system when compared to other first world nations. And make no mistake, because of insurance companies, we have rationed care right now.

The problem is we have let the ultra wealthy and corporations go too long without contributing a more reasonable share, while sucking enormous amounts of wealth out of the economy.
The 1% pay half of all federal income tax. The top 10% pay 2/3rds of all federal income tax. How much more do you want them to pay? Honest question. Should the top 10 pay 100% of the taxes and the lower 90 pay none?

This is why a flat tax is the only way at to revamp it all.

And now I'm going to have to change my Avatar...eventually.
I've got a suggestion about that:

If the Dems decide to run with that narrative, they are doing it at their own peril (there are so many other things to go after Trump on).
Fortunately for all Americahs, not just the "Dems," they will be going after everything corrupt, dishonest and dangerous about Trump. Trump's Project 2025 is just one of many things that Trump's going to get got after for.

Would an additional 10% of your income change your world?
