Harris is already making her case; both to be the nominee and also against Trump.

Edit: LA - L.A. has clarified that Cohen was citing a tweet made by Harris in 2019.

I'm pretty sure Republicans panicked this weekend, and sent out the bots to defend Biden. Twitter last night was an odd place.
You step into the unknown now.. Harris is a sort of wild card whose truly stepping forward for the first time on the national stage.. if she has the capability to come out and nail it, it'll probably change the feel of things.

I wonder how much of the Biden operation at the top she keeps?
Hopefully, she wants to keep them all and they all want to stay on. They've done a lot of logistical work and staff changes will cause some level of disruption to that work.

I assume they'll be around in some form. They're already holding meeting and such telling everyone to go all in on Harris.

Yep. I think the others are going to start doing the same. Someone on CNN said Mark Kelley endorsed Harris, but I've seen no confirmation.

Griffin Kyle is updating as endorsements come in. Klobuchar, Tina Smith, Schiff, Katie Porter…

That sword cuts both ways, Krod. If a child wants something and you forbid them from having it, then you are also making life altering decisions for the child. You're just forcing them to follow the life path that you think they should follow.

The way it is now, a child doesn't just get the medical care they want just because they ask for it. The child and their parents work with trained and experienced professionals to reach a decision on what is best for the child based on listening to the child.

You just want to demand every child do as you tell them without ever even meeting a single one of them. That's the treatment of children that's actually gross and detrimental, Krod.
I am going to chime in on this, being that I am a parent of a Transgender son and had to go through this situation. Pretty long, but explains the process of how my wife and I came to our decision.

My child in 8th grade came to me and my 2nd wife and came out as trans and identified as male. We were shocked and not sure how to handle it. Like @Krodwhodat said we were on board with no hormones or surgeries until they were 18 as we didn’t want to make a decision based on a 13 year old kids psyche. We immediately had him start seeing a counselor and spoke to his doctor.

In the first year, we allowed him to go by his preferred name, both at home and school. We live in a conservative part of the country and the school reluctantly accepted our decision, with the exception of a few teachers who wouldn’t comply. This school district didn’t require teachers to use preferred names, just the name in the school system.

My wife was a HS English teacher in one of the best school districts in the area and it was also a more progressive. Since my wife worked there we received preferential treatment and they set up my son with his preferred name and gender and he had essentially a fresh start since they were new to the school district.
What we saw in his Freshmen year was a transformation from a child who was full of anxiety to someone who was confident in himself and his friends and accepted for who he is. He still got picked on by the usual suspects but the school was supportive.

In his senior year, we allowed him to start hormone treatment. We are grateful we were able to make this decision for our child but that has changed with the recent anti-transgender choice law and it makes me sad that children in the same situation as my son, have no right to make a decision. People who have no understanding of what this experience is like have eliminated the ability for that decision to be made.

My son is going into his Junior year in college, he is a straight A student and editor in chief for his school paper which is nationally ranked. He was devastated by the law passed in Nebraska and how it would impact children similar to him and take away their ability to make their own decision.

Because you don’t like something that doesn’t mean you should take that right away from other people. Would you be ok if we ban baptism of children until they have a right to make that decision themselves?

Adam Schiff I just read. And I posted Kelly’s endorsement in one of these threads, lol.

This outpouring of support both endorsements and financial makes me very very happy. The convention can be a valedictory for Biden and his amazing term, an announcement of VP and that excitement, and capped with an address by Harris. Seeing pieces of her campaigning for Biden these last few weeks I have been very impressed with her.

Everyone can focus on the main goal - defeat Rs everywhere.
