The widow of the slain victim in Saturday’s shooting in Pennsylvania spoke with former President Donald J. Trump on Tuesday, she said in a social media post.

“He was very kind and said he would continue to call me in the days and weeks ahead,” Helen Comperatore wrote, adding that she had told the former president that her husband, Corey Comperatore, “left this world a hero, and God welcomed him in.”

Mr. Comperatore’s sister, Kelly Comperatore Meeder, said members of the family had also spoken with representatives of the Trump campaign on Monday night. Ms. Comperatore Meeder said they had declined an invitation to speak with President Biden.

if he was shot bad enough where he was hospitalized, it would stick longer, but in 4 months, it'll be an after thought.. but it being a Republican who shot him, it didn't help as much..

Her previous statement shows what is wrong with the MAGA nonsense.

If your worship of a man won’t allow you to accept a phone call of consolation because it comes from someone on the other side of the aisle, who you admit was not responsible and who you say you have no ill will towards…that’s a problem.

I don’t think his image took a change.
It’s a small sample size, but everyone I’ve talked to still sees him as an embarrassing joke.
The only ones that I’ve seen affected by that photo were already voting for him.
