He quite possibly lost a bet with someone that Biden wasn’t going to be inaugurated. The donation was on Inauguration Day. Sure this is just a guess but it makes perfect sense.

He registered as a Republican when he turned 18. He wore a pro-gun site’s shirt. He was a loner, bullied in high school. That’s about all we know right now.

I realize it's too early but my current best guess is this has a lot more to do with the factors that drive other mass shootings and might not be rooted in any strong political leanings or motives. If he was bullied and suffered, it's possible this was his way of making society suffer and gain notoriety.

I didn't mean a particular word really.. though authoritarian is certainly where his leanings are in my view... but moreso just finding better, more effective ways of conveying concerns over Trump and his rhetoric and his (potential) actions rather than direct comparisons to Hitler.

Like I've said, I do get it.. but death camps and genocide are particularly what you think about when you think about Hitler and so I just do not believe it serves the intended purpose.

A classmate, in a segment just now on the news, described the shooter as a loner and said "he was bullied so much." A description from other shooting incidents we're all too familiar with. Whatever motives might be uncovered, this is another tragic reminder of how often boys and young men are being failed in this country, and the inclination for those who suffer to act out violently.
