Absolutely. If Trump or Biden insist on doing them outside, the SS has to make it clear to them that they can't guarantee their safety. It's just too risky to hold them outside between now and the election.

I don't know anything about you in your personal life and what a Trump presidency might mean for you, personally, but I'm not conceding anything and I'm not 'giving up the fight'. Too many people are going to suffer - including people I care deeply about - if Trump returns to the White House.

For anyone wondering, Trump has vowed to ban transgender care for any age. The initial tack is to deny federal funding for transgender care, which at first blush doesn't sound terrible (since very little federal money actually goes to transgender care), but considering that money is fungible and if the EO is written broadly, it will be interpreted that no money can go to any medical facility or insurance that provides transgender care. Effectively ending it for everyone.

It'll go through courts, of course, and may or may not stand... but I'm not exactly optimistic.

The Secret Service doesn't have unlimited personnel, so they have to do the best they can with the manpower they have. I can only guess that the guy wasn't visible to the snipers until he got into position to shoot, and when he was visible they simply weren't looking at his specific location before he can start shooting.

What I find more puzzling is whey there were no Secret Service agents stationed at all on the roof the shooter used. Seems to make sense to at least put a guy or two up there considering the vantage point.

MT posted a good tweet yesterday. It was from a retired police officer who had worked several Presidential
rallies. In short he said there are 3 levels of protection. The agents immediately surrounding the President.
The crowd,and finally the roof top snipers. The 2nd level is mostly manned by local law enforcement. That's
where the break down occurred. No one should have been able to climb onto the roof of the building the
shooter was on.

He quite possibly lost a bet with someone that Biden wasn’t going to be inaugurated. The donation was on Inauguration Day. Sure this is just a guess but it makes perfect sense.

He registered as a Republican when he turned 18. He wore a pro-gun site’s shirt. He was a loner, bullied in high school. That’s about all we know right now.
