I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

You are defending the lies and stupidity spoken by the POTUS as acceptable and then couching it in your own interaction with dadwife.

I'm addressing a tiny little bit of the overall river of nonsense and lies that have come from Trump's mouth. I'm unable to cordon off one stream of nonsense from the other in order to rationalize the acceptance of your argument.

Trump is a liar and buffoon. The totality of his lies and stupid statements must be considered when you take his advice. Those who believe him are subject to a lower standard that I believe puts them at risk for believing him when he gives them medical advice or proffers an invalid remedy to a deadly virus.
No, you're just spewing more labels and implying racism and bigotry.

Ok. Let's throw out all the racism and everything else for a second..

Can anyone seriously say after watching that video that they trust Trump? I mean...19 days from now letting everyone congregate again.

Literally everyone here knows that is an absolute recipe for more people dying.

    Ahmed Baba at Rantt Media?
    Commenting about Easter?
    Bad form, Chuck. Bad form.

I’m talking about what Trump said.

So you watch a clip of Trump speaking and then condemn the post because the person who posted the clip is suspect? Talk about dodging the question.

Do you think it’s realistic to talk about packed churches in less than three weeks?

If anybody, I mean anybody in the world told you something like this, that even at the time, was complete garbage - and a month later that person is still trying to tell you things, is there any sane reason why you’d believe him? No. If you do, it’s solely because you want to - any objective value is nonsense.

I don’t have much to say around here because so many people express similar opinions/thoughts so much more skillfully than I ever could. But I have to speak up and say this is one of the worst posts I have ever seen on this board.

You are reprimanding Chuck for posting an Article that 100% matches the accompanying video? This wasn’t an opinion piece. It was a restatement of what Trump said.

There was no way to defend the video so true to form, attack the writer or poster. It's a tried and true method.

    Deal finally struck.

By citing this guy's Twitter feed, you're endorsing him and the junk he's been pumping out since he started in October 2016.
He draws his name from a Muslim scholar from a few centuries back and you cite his feed about the president's comments on Easter?
Example of what's wrong with that: "For commentary on the president's thoughts about Ramadan, let's visit St Francis@Jesuit.com."
    Like I said, bad form.
Will New York be in the clear by Easter? No.
Billings, Montana? Maybe we should revisit the blanket nationwide thingy, huh?

I don't issue reprimands. I said, "Bad form."
If he wants to throw traffic to Ahmed Baba, that's his choice.
The guy's named his feed after a Muslim scholar from a centuries back.
Might want to consider that when you're talking about Easter.

Biden says he has no symptoms, and then:

Hopefully the dry cough is all, but with as many people as he has been in contact with he should be tested.

So, what shall we spend our stimulus money on? I was thinking mortgage payment, but then I thought about tires for my vehicle, then I read a couple of horror stories about home invasions and figured a shotgun and a few boxes of shells would be nice.

Washington (CNN)Lawmakers struck a $2 trillion stimulus deal early Wednesday that includes sending checks directly to individuals amid the coronavirus crisis -- but it will likely take until at least May before the money goes out.
Under the plan as it was being negotiated, single Americans would receive $1,200, married couples would get $2,400, and parents would see $500 for each child under age 17.
However, the payments would start to phase out for individuals with adjusted gross incomes of more than $75,000, and those making more than $99,000 would not qualify at all. The thresholds are doubled for couples.

Some of you need to knock it off with the "dear leader" type barbs! Like TDS (which we do not allow use of on this board), the use of "dear leader" is both condescending as well as incendiary, and the obvious intent of it's use is to get under the oppositions skin.

You can use whatever terms you wish on your own affiliate boards, but on this board, seek a higher level of discourse, and keep it civil, which means that you cannot keep getting personal with other members, and some of you also need to knock it off with your persistently snide remarks and get back to participating in good faith discussion, which is the mission here.

I've deleted 44 posts from this thread alone over the past three days, most of which is due to members getting personal and being insulting. I'm beginning to feel frustrated with some of you, and I don't think that it's simply due to having cabin fever. It's more about the lack of self-control and repeatedly crossing the line of acceptability.

Remember... Practice self-control. Attack the post not the poster, It isn't always what you say, but how you say it. Don't get personal. Keep it civil!
