I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

That's you only response about anything Covid. Are you stuck on repeat?
Maybe you could answer the question one time? Or maybe you could bring context to this discussion? You keep posting dense and highly partisan tweets and don’t discuss the significance.

    I know I’m asking a lot. 🤷‍♀️

Global health leaders have said an international treaty governing how the world should deal with future pandemics may not be agreed for another year or more.

After two years of negotiations, countries failed to agree on the text of an international pandemic accord by a deadline of 24 May. And at the World Health Assembly in Geneva on Tuesday delegates said extensive further negotiations would be needed.

The accord contains a series of measures setting out how the world should prevent, prepare for and respond to pandemics. Setting out plans for a pandemic treaty in early 2021, world leaders described it as a legacy to protect their children and grandchildren.

The former chief scientific adviser to the government Sir Patrick Vallance is among those who have warned of the threat of another pandemic, saying earlier this month that it was “absolutely inevitable”.

During a debate, some countries – including many African nations – urged efforts to conclude the treaty negotiation process before the end of 2024, in order not to lose momentum.

Others, including the US, EU and Caribbean countries such as Jamaica, called for at least another year so that thorny issues could be properly addressed.

While member states had reached agreement on many areas, serious disagreements remain, including on finance; how much product pharmaceutical companies should be required to set aside for those countries most in need; intellectual property rights and sanctions.

One leading issue has been on what access to drugs and treatments developing countries can expect in return for their efforts monitoring and sharing information on pathogens found in their territories.

The negotiations have also been the subject of widespread misinformation campaigns, with false claims that the treaty represents a power grab by the World Health Organization, giving them the ability to impose lockdowns on countries.

A large blue bus was seen driving around Geneva urging people to “say no to the pandemic treaty”.…….

And I'm pretty sure this wasn't answered

If it's proven that covid was indeed a lab leak and America did indeed know about it at the time what exactly would that mean to you and what exactly would you want to happen?

Anthony S. Fauci defended himself Monday against claims that he orchestrated a coverup of the coronavirus pandemic’s origins, with the former government official rejecting some allegations as “simply preposterous.”

The prominent infectious-disease expert, who served as a senior leader at the National Institutes of Health for four decades before leaving government at the end of 2022, said Republicans have distorted emails between himself and other scientists as they discussed whether a laboratory leak of the coronavirus was possible.

“We spend our whole life trying to determine the causes of infectious diseases, and stop them to protect the American people,” Fauci said, adding that he did not pressure colleagues to reach a conclusion about the origins of the virus while disputing other Republican charges……

Old conspiracy theories never die. They just fade into the congressional record.
Last fall, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, made an incendiary public accusation that, “according to information gathered by the select subcommittee,” Anthony Fauci “was escorted into Central Intelligence Agency Headquarters — without a record of entry — and participated in the analysis to ‘influence’ the agency’s review” to say that covid-19 did not originate from a lab leak.

“Wenstrup reveals new allegations,” his news release boasted.
Another Republican on the panel, Rep. Richard McCormick (Ga.) declared definitively: “We now know that Fauci had a secret meeting with the CIA.”

Fox News, the New York Post and the rest of the right-wing conspiracy machine ran with it. And then — nothing.

The subcommittee came up with no evidence to support the claim, supposedly made by a whistleblower, and nothing to challenge Fauci’s testimony that he hadn’t been to the CIA in 20 years.

Appearing before the panel in a public hearing on Monday, Fauci, now retired after decades leading the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, ridiculed the idea that “I was parachuted into the CIA like Jason Bourne and told the CIA that they should really not be talking about a lab leak.”

So what did committee Republicans do after their Fauci-to-CIA conspiracy theory collapsed?

    They pretended it never happened.

The Republican staff director, Mitch Benzine, during his time to question Fauci at the hearing, announced:

“That was not an allegation made by the committee.”
Why would anyone have thought otherwise?…….

MTG is a disgusting human being. We already knew that, but she's over the top here.

No more than certain other posters are about Fauci.

So, answer the question. Why did your false god pull the CDC team from Wuhan?
Can you be more specific? Was it Dr Linda Quick? I googled it but I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to.

Why do you think he did it? To prevent people from finding out the Fauci and the US were funding gain of research in Wuhan?

No, despite your claims which have been debunked.

It was done because Ivermectin is ineffective as a treatment for SARS-CoV2.

You are so bad at running cover for Fauci. We have private messages, emails, government documents that back up what I'm posting while you claim it's partisan.

Oh please. I've posted many different things about Covid from different angles and stories.

You wouldn't know much about Covid unless the DNC..I mean Washington Post tells you about it.
Whereas you know less than nothing about it due to your breathless conspiracy theory posting.

You won't even be specific for your own claims? Who was on the team or what was the team called that you say Trump pulled from Wuhan?

We already know that Fauci and the NIH were funding gain of function research in Wuhan because there was a pause on that research in the US.

Fauci is now trying to change the definition of gain of function research, but luckily we have government documents that show he's full of shirt.

Why do Democrats continue to cover for Fauci?

It is none of your flocking business who the person was.

You know nothing and continue to pride yourself on your lack of knowledge and conspiracy theories while refusing to answer the question as to why Trump pulled the CDC team out of Wuhan.

    Take a reading comprehension course.

I asked you NOTHING about my PCP.

I DID ask you about Trump pulling the CDC team out of Wuhan which you have never answered.

I've asked you for specifics about that team and who was pulled out or what the team was called. I can answer your question after you provide that information or you can just continue your rants.
