I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

Even young people have asthma .. Even 35-40 and 50 year olds have minor health issues or undetected heart problems or diabetes or high blood pressure. You are trying to confuse and minimize the threat. Do you have any medical background?

The Danes have fared well in this epidemic.. They went extreme.. immediately assuming it would kill people of all ages and going into lock down immediately.. Trump tap danced like he was holding a campaign rally.

Over 100 American Airlines cabin attendants have been diagnosed with covid-19.. They aren't senior citizens.

    Dude, just stop.

You keep responding as though AGE is the only factor I mentioned and for some reason you are going to some length to counter arguments that I never made.

Go back and read the first post you quoted. I said ages and underlying conditions.

Now go back and read the second post you quoted. I don't think I even mentioned age specifically. I said comorbidities.

Obviously age is an important factor because as we age our immune system is not as strong as it was when we were younger. But, we all know there are other health factors that make us more likely to succumb to this virus.

If they work for Trump, directly or indirectly, that is their only choice. To tell the truth would immediately result in them being blamed, scapegoated, harassed, intimidated and fired.

For some mid-level spokesman at Treasury to say otherwise would make them FOX famous in 2 minutes.
Well, dtc, to use your favorite phrase, I think you're grasping at straws or perhaps clutching at pearls, either way. :hihi:

So, you're disputing the Treasury, which says things are actually going to take place ahead of schedule?

"Economic Impact Payment checks are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as planned – there is absolutely no delay whatsoever," a Treasury spokeswoman said in a statement. "In fact, we expect the first checks to be in the mail early next week which is well in advance of when the first checks went out in 2008 and well in advance of initial estimates."

One of us is getting old.

I don't believe you've ever seen me use either of those phrases, but I haven't shaved since Saturday and my beard is most definitely more gray than brown.

I for one, wouldn't dispute the Treasury, having worked with them for years, I highly respect the folks that work there and the organization. But do you honestly think that this Treasury spokeswoman would admit that this caused a delay? And why would she compare this to 2008? Curious statement....not.....

    I mean, really?

My question to you was along the same line.

Why does it seem as if you and Trump and the rest of the "open it now" crowd value those more likely to succumb less than others?

Oh, it should have been "clutching at pearls" and I corrected that.
Yes, I probably got you mixed up with somebody else because you don't have an avatar for me to go by and it left me befuddled like an old fuddy duddy. :9:

Service Providers are not allowed to comment on the behavior or veracity of Civil Servants , , , not if they want to remain employed as Service Providers. :winkthumb:

Yep. I certainly am. Stating there is no delay whatsoever is 100% a lie.

It's as if the whole clan feels that way.

Jared says the federal stockpiles belong to "us" as if he was the federal government and, worse, that the federal government isn't a creation of and for the states.

Jared is another undereducated, entitled fool.

None of the dumb grifters were paying attention in 2005 when Bush initiated preparedness for potential epidemics. The 7 billion he allocated for stock piling the necessities for rapid response and the research that went into making certain that it would survive multiple administrations served Obama well when he was confronted with multiple events in 8 years.

It needed to be replenished when Trump took office, but Trump was focused on reallocating funds for his "wall". There is NO indication in the information based on the Bush plan that the supplies were just for the Feds.

Trump is playing it both ways.. He wants credit and to divert any failure to the states.. That's largely what is wrong with his communication about the virus.. I am so sick of Trump's lies and chaos ang grandstanding.

I have been getting text messages every day from Don junior trashing Pelosi.. Can you imagine?

And, in other news.. my neighbor has the virus.. He's a remarkably fit and active 65 year old and a perfectly lovely man.

I enjoy a more odd phrase than that. I'll put in an avatar if I can figure it out, but I am old!

My question is that I thought all life was precious. Why are the lives of the old, fat and sick not so important or is that not a real concern when it's in the context of economic health?
    "All Lives Matter*"

    * Except the darkies and the fogies and those with comorbitidies

I knew a girl like that! She enjoyed an "odd phrase"! :melike:

Hey, I've got a decade on you and I figured out how to revamp and use my old avatar from the , , , uh , , , from a different forum than this one! :hihi:

I am not a dude. Obviously you cannot predict who will die and who won't.. so why not stop making excuses for Trump and Kushner.

100 American Airlines flight attendants and 41 pilots don't care about your nuanced approach.

OK, V Chip. I understand. We've still got seven months to go, so I'll pace myself here!
So, my good friend DD, how've you been?

So you're stating that changing the check to put his signature in the memo section takes absolutely 0 time? Not even 10 seconds as previously claimed?

Because otherwise, that statement is 100% a lie. There is a delay caused. A guy with 40 years of government service can obviously tell when a government spokesman is blowing smoke up your skivvies.

What the hell? Recognizing that the precense or abscence of certain health conditions will effect the mortality rate is not the same as placing a value on one's life.

Regardless, you are not following the conversation.
