Senator Warnock won in a special election to fill the remainder of Johnny Isakson's seat - which expires January 2023. This means the seat is up for election in 2022, where Warnock will run as the incumbent and the GOP field that is now led by former running back Hershel Walker, who has been enthusiastically endorsed by Donald Trump.

Sadly, this won’t move the needle for those who support him. I have already seen this defense from a blue check mark on Twitter - this is old news, and don’t we know that people grow and change over the years.
Hypocrisy is dead to republicans. That word means nothing to them. Religious convictions mean nothing. They are nothing more than a means to an end. If it means denying someone else of their rights, then they have closely held religious convictions. If it means supporting someone as despicable as trump or Walker, they can suspend those closely held religious convictions to get the person they want elected. It is incredible to me that these same people who support Walker and trump can sit up in church every Sunday and worship someone whose teachings their actions violate in every way. These same people will tell you and I that we are going to hell while believing that they are "saved" because they attend church every Sunday. It's more likely that an atheist could end up in heaven than any of these people.

    first debate cancelled

Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism and its media partners 13WMAZ, The Telegraph and Georgia Public Broadcasting said they would not host its planned Oct. 13 event after incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock and Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver agreed to appear.

Republican challenger Herschel Walker never responded to the debate invitation, Center for Collaborative Journalism director Debbie Blankenship said in a statement

I mean, are we surprised Walker is a hypocrite? Everyone running on family values is suspect. This guy gives off David Vitter vibes, runs on family values and is out parading around at brothels. Makes you wonder how far deep back those skeletons go in the closet.

Herschel Walker already had more scandals and personal flaws than any Republican Senate candidate on the ballot.

From his lies about serving in law enforcement to his wild exaggerations about his business experience to the previously undisclosed children he fathered, he is an encyclopedia of character deficiencies.

And that doesn’t get into the incident in which he allegedly put a gun to his ex-wife’s head. (Walker has not denied the account, saying his violent behavior was because of mental illness.)

Then came the abortion story. The Daily Beast reports that in 2009, Walker — who currently does not condone abortions even in cases of rape or incest — urged a woman he impregnated to get an abortion and then paid for it.

Walker denies the accusation, but the evidence is damning. The Daily Beast reports that the woman who had the abortion “supported these claims with a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, a ‘get well’ card from Walker, and a bank deposit receipt that included an image of a signed $700 personal check from Walker.”

One of his children tweeted out a harsh condemnation:

This is great.. Hallmark Introduces: The Herschel Walker Collection

Yet again the dogdamned media fails us. The interviewer should have followed up with "Really? You send $700 checks and get well cards to random people all the time? I wonder if we could find any from around then. Do you think we could? Do you realize how insane you sound right now? What's the seventeenth Amendment? Can you spell 'cloture'? Do you know what it means? What in the name of Gods left testicle makes you think you're remotely qualified to serve in the United States Senate?"

Which is why he won't participate in a Debate. It would probably go as well and in the Adam Sandler Movie Billy Madison where the guy couldn't answer the question so he pulls out a gun...
