    Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.



    Houthi leader issued this statement- no US ships in Red Sea


    Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

    This morning Trump took to Truth Social:



    So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

    So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

    It's going to be here in Los Angeles if a false flag attack happens. I hope not living near any of the iconic locations of Los Angeles would keep me safe if it happens.
     
    I predict that in three years we'll be hearing about how, though he's no longer eligible to be president at the end of this term, we can't change "leadership" in time of war.

    We'll also be hearing about how we can't criticize a sitting president in time of war.

    This is the most compelling proof that MAGA is a cult of personality and not an ideology of any kind. MAGA is not about supporting ideas or policies, MAGA is about supporting Trump no matter how self-contradictory he is.

    I love the fact they are turning on each other, that it's happening a lot sooner than I thought it would, and that it's over issues that won't be easy for any of them to compromise on or overlook.
     
    So I’m reading there was some damage, but “wiped out” is undoubtedly pure hyperbole. And yeah, it’s a cult.
     
    And as per usual, Vance goes on the talk shows to say the US isn’t interested in regime change in Iran, followed by the orange dunce completely contradicting him.

    My take is Vance is trying to convince us the US Government is not putting a plan into action that has the goal of taking out the Supreme Leader. Whereas the Trump statement is him giving his opinion that if the current Iranian regime continues to make its country suffer, then likely the people of Iran will bring about change from within. So imo it is not a contradiction. Yet I am skeptical that Vance is sincere. We might say one thing and do another. :unsure:

    Trump has always used this tactic against his subordinates to make them look foolish and shirt on them just to make himself feel big and powerful.
