    Several prominent Democratic figures are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this month, two sources familiar with the plans told NBC News.

    President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been confirmed as speakers at the convention. Obama and the Clintons delivered speeches during the 2020 DNC, which was largely held virtually to prevent the spread of Covid-19 amid the pandemic.

    A source familiar said that former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson Jason Carter is also confirmed to be speaking as a representative for his grandfather…….

    I know why that seems so hypocritical, but somebody had to have that conversation with Joe. And there was nobody other than Pelosi that could have had that conversation with Biden and it have the impact it needed to have.

    She could have wiped her hands of the responsibility given that she's passed on the leadership role in the party, but she knew the above as well. As harsh as it was, we owe her our gratitude for doing it because I doubt she relished that role. Everything that's happened in the past month is proof of that.

    Agreed. I said it before. The truth hurts, but Biden needed to hear it.

    According to the Wall Street Journal, pro-Palestine protests near the convention site disrupted transportation, delaying buses carrying delegates. Around 20 buses were stuck a half mile from the United Center as protesters clashed with police, causing many attendees to arrive late.

    Also, I noticed how angry and disgusted Joe was when he talked about the way Trump disrespects veterans. He seemed truly angry.

    I agree. Few deserve more than Biden. I’ve said if Kamala wins Joe is top 3 for 1-term Pres. and top 1/4 all time. It was likely the last Biden speech most will see. It was still too long and too dark. Half the speech was SotU copy. There was too much Trump doom and the opposite of “joy”. Too much legacy via policy and odd choices (Kissinger). Maybe it’s the kind of speech few can write and even fewer can deliver well. He deserved a better speech.
