This probably needs its own thread. It ties in with a lot of different R culture wars: Attacks on universities, attacks on CRT and “woke”. Classifying teachers and librarians as “groomers”. Pushing vouchers to send tax money to private, often religious, schools. Betsy DeVos was an advocate for all these policies that will weaken public education, and there are several billionaires who also want to dismantle public education. Public education may have its faults, but it is responsible for an amazing amount of upward mobility. Kids from poor areas can still get a college prep education in a public school.

Vouchers (sometimes disguised as “school choice”) are a particular peeve of mine. Public money is diverted from poor schools to wealthy private schools, which aren’t required to offer accommodations for special needs or challenged students. Families with special needs kids are left out. Rural areas often suffer disproportionately because there are no private schools to attend, but their public schools still see the reduction in funding. Often the families who take advantage of the voucher money are upper class and the private schools simply raise tuition knowing the families are getting taxpayer money now.

Greg Abbot is being particularly vile in this area. No surprise. Voters will have to make a statement about public education. If we want to halt the growing divide in this country between the “haves” and “have-nots”, we need to pay attention to public education.

I know what you asked and I know why you asked it. It’s a stupid question.
It's not a stupid question just because the truthful answer is very inconvenient to what you think and want other people think.

The fact that Neo-Nazi's support Trump and the Republicans, and only Trump and the Republicans, blows your "they're not Nazi's" out of the water. Neo-Nazi's are only going to support people who they see as agreeing with them about the world. The Neo-Nazi's all see Trump and the Republicans as agreeing with them about the world.

I am opposed to Israel's decades long inhumane and unjust treatment of Palestinians, including the current genocide they are committing. I had a conversation about shortly after Hamas's terrorist attack. Her parents immigrated here from Israel. She has personal ties to people in Israel. When I told her what I thought, she agreed with me and didn't see me as being antisemitic or supporting Hamas. She and I are in full agreement that the leadership of Israel and of Hamas are both killing innocent people and that both of them need to go, so that the all the other Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace.

I do not know what goes on in the mind of the average Neo Nazi nor do I give a crap about your “evidence”.
You know who else doesn't give a crap about evidence that runs contrary to what they believe and want others to believe?

They are not a part of the GOP nor do they influence GOP policy.
NeoNazi's support the Republican party, because they support the policies of the Republican party. There's a reason for that. You know that reason and it's why you are so angry that someone has pointed that truth out.

Gender can be difficult to identify on the internet. My Id actually started as Dragonlady (and yes I am female lol) from one of my favorite scifi books around 1998, when I was playing fantasy football with a bunch of international players and being the only female in my group got really tired of all their jokes about females and football. (I kicked their behind 3 years in a row as a result of that lol) So when I started joining US football boards, I shortened it to the more gender neutral Dragon lol.
True, but usually the default is he and him when someone doesn't know gender. So, it is odd to see someone use she/her and then claim it's just because they didn't know the gender. TampaJoe hasn't done that with anyone else. If they stop doing it now that they know, then it was probably unintentional.

I never said you did. But it can be argued that antisemitic people tend to gravitate to the Democratic Party as not late.
Sure, that can be said, but it's not true. The American voters who openly hate Jewish people, (Neo-Nazi's, KKK, skinheads, Aryan Brotherhood and so on) gravitate to the Republican party. Antisemitism means hating people who are Semitic. FYI, did you know that Palestinians are also Semitic?

People who are opposed to the Israeli government's inhumane and unjust treatment of Palestinians tend to the gravitate toward the Democratic party. Around 30% of the citizens of Israel who are Jewish are also opposed to the Israeli government's inhumane and unjust treatment of Palestinians. Some of those Israeli citizens march in protest.

People who don't like Israeli policies do not hate Jewish people, so calling them antisemitic is a lie. Protesting Israeli policies is not driven by hate for Semitic people. They are pro-Semitic not anti-Semitic because they want all Semitic people to be treated humanely and justly, including the Palestinians.

The fascists in charge of Israeli lie to everyone just like fascist Trump and the Republicans lie to everyone. Fascists always stick up for fascist. That's why Trump, Republicans and Israeli leadership all stick up for each other. They're all fascists.

The other politicians that stick up for Israel are terrified of Israeli lobbyists here in the US pouring money and propaganda into elections to defeat them.

I gave you examples of how neo-nazis are intertwined with the GOP. Can you do the same for antisemitic people gravitating to the Democratic Party? I ask this, given that the neo-nazis gravitating toward the GOP are anti-semitic by definition.

I never said you spoke favorably of neo-nazis. What I will say is that, when asked if you could at least acknowledge that the GOP attracts neo-nazis, you had the choice to denounce neo-nazis or denounce reality. You chose to denounce reality.
I have no problem denouncing Nazis. Never have. I don’t agree that everyone who disagrees with you or other members on this board is a Nazi.

I never said anyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi. I gave you examples of literal Nazis and white supremacists rubbing shoulders with the GOP, and you've spent more time arguing with me than saying, "yep, I see them and fork those guys."

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say it's because you realize that the party you support is putting forth policies that make Nazis smile.

You make me smile.

I don’t believe you can show me where I have ever spoken favorably of Neo Nazis.

So it’s a BS question. Was when you asked it.

Except this wasn't the question......and he knows it, he's trolling/gaslighting.....and he's comically angry in his responses because someone hit a nerve.....bravo!!!!!

You make me smile.

Now that you're all smiley, how about you answer the original question, since you seem to think that answering people's questions is so important that you can demand it. Can you acknowledge that the GOP is the party of choice for neo-nazis, white supremacists, and other assorted racists?

I don’t know what is in the mind of Neo Nazis. Don’t hang with them. Don’t speak for them.

I also don’t speak for radical or extreme movements that tend to vote for Democrats.

So no, I can’t acknowledge what goes on in the mind of bigots and terrorists or how they vote of why. I am more interested in actual policy.

I didn't ask you to speak for anyone. I didn't ask you what was in anyone's mind. You are being dishonest, Joe. I asked if you could acknowledge that the GOP is the party of choice for neo-nazis, white supremacists, and other assorted racists. Can you acknowledge this fact?

And I answered you. Clearly said I couldn’t acknowledge. So to repeat again the answer to your question is No. If you ask me again, it will still be no.

Is that clear enough for you.

So you intentionally misrepresent what I post.
You said you agreed with a post that was making a point that all the "woke" accusations are bullshirt.

I know and you should know that the person you responded to believes that "woke" bullshirt is part of the fascist attack on inclusion and equality for all.

It seemed to me that you were agreeing with what they thought about the "woke" bullshirt being an example of fascism. I apparently misunderstood you, but I didn't intentionally misrepresent you.

I may have also misunderstood what I thought @Optimus Prime's was implying. or maybe you missed what Optimus Prime was implying.
