    Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

    Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

    This morning Trump took to Truth Social:



    So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

    So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

    The Washington Post is giving Trump too much credit and is proving themselves to be useless. The only reason he may be "sidelining" Gabbard and Hegseth is because they're not telling him what he wants to hear or because it may be contradicting what the warmongering neo-cons on FOX News are saying. It has nothing to do with incompetence. All of the other people around Trump are equally incompetent, they're just saying the same thing that the mouth breathing military industrial complex reps on FOX are saying.

    Why does the media always feel the need to present Trump like he's operating in some coherent or rational fashion and just suddenly had an "awakening"?
     
    Say what you want about Bush 43's Iraq WMD claim, at least they tried their case for a better part of a year before Congress and the UN before building a coalition to invade Iraq. This administration isn't going to even pretend to go through those motions, POTUS is just going to decide whether or not declare war on his own...in 2 weeks.

    in two weeks the news cycle will have shifted and this wont be "front page" news any longer.

    Its a tried/true tactic he employs. Same with tariffs.

    Then, if we DO, it wont be THAT big of deal because we will have already digested the main issues over last few days and grew weary of the constant disinfo coming out WH.

    No doubt. In two weeks, we will be likely dealing with the fallout of a US citizen being killed by a US Marine performing policing duties.

    It would have been interesting to hear SaintForLife's thoughts on Trump's war mongering and FOX lobbying on behalf of the military industrial complex.

    We're past the point of mere projections, now we're to the point where many statements Trump make are confessions.
     
    The attack on Iran is a distraction - notice how the Gaza coverage has dropped to page 2 most places, while Israel are using the food distribution points to kill and terrrorise people - adults and children alike!
