Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

Houthi leader issued this statement- no US ships in Red Sea

Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:

So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

So are they ever going to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt with evidence showing Iran's nuclear program was on the verge or actually producing something to merit a military campaign or is this just "trust us bro, we've seen super secret intelligence" and act like 2003 Iraq never happened?

Oh, and don't hide behind "muh national security" excuses either. Show it or shut the hell up. Also, stop showing me bibi who has repeated the same talking points since the freaking 1980's. Its not that I'm against intervention, I'm against intervention without undeniable proof. I don't wanna repeat of Iraq.

The Trump administration doesn't have someone as credible as Colin Powell they can role out to peddle their snake oil like Powell did for George W Bush.

I.e. "The Israelis get to use you as human shields. Deal with it!"
Does seem possible they are leaving them in harms way to be injured or killed by an Iranian attack on Israel, which they could then use to whip the country into a frenzy of support for retribution against Iran. It's the bread and butter tactic tyrants use to get public support for an unjustified act of mass homicidal aggression.

That's like that one dude that every D&D group has. He's the guy that stays back and shoots arrows at every foe the group is fighting, so they can get shared XP on every kill. Yeah, Trump's that dude.

Woah... that's out of line bub... Ranged fighters are a perfectly useful part of a healthy D&D party.

Just for completeness, it is true that the IAEA reported on May 31 - for the first time in 20 years - that Iran was in substantial non-compliance with its nuclear nonproliferation duties (and that it now believes that Iran did indeed have a weapons program in 2003, which Iran has always denied). The IAEA also stated in subsequent notices that Iran is enriching uranium to at least 60% at its domestic facilities, and if it enriched that material to 90% could support six warheads.

Note that at 60% enrichment, the only uses are weapons or some kind research function.

On June 12, the IAEA declared Iran in non-compliance.

Americans who voted for Trump are responsible for this war. He's the one that tore up the Iran nuclear deal and he's the one that keeps allowing Netanyahu to play him like a fiddle into further involving the US with boots on the ground. Trump is a wannabe tough guy warmonger.

Not when they're snaking XP points from every front line melee combatant by shooting every foe once. Put a foe down, before moving on to the next for crying out loud.

You could view that Tucker vs Cruz conversation as Israeli vs Russia bots debating. Regime change in Iran is horrible for Russia.
Yeah, it took me a minute to remember that Carlson is a Russian asset. He has allegiance only to Putin now. Wonder what Putin has on him?

Because Tucker doesn’t have any sort of objection to war, he’s fine with Russia invading Ukraine and committing war crimes there.

Trump will not drop the MOP, he always chickens out!

This is astonishing if there is even a grain of truth to it.

His SECDEF. prior to being Sec of Def, was literally a Fox contributor, then presenter/host on shows. Was not a career military man. Spent his military time as a Guardsmen, then Individual Ready Reserveman ( even less time spent training than Natl Guard )

Then you add in Pirro and others over the years, yeah there is more than a grain of truth here.

Way more then a grain of truth, they at least thought about changing his daily briefing to look like a Fox show so he would pay attention.
