Assassination attempt on Trump (1 Viewer)

Why can't it just be said that a bullet grazed his ear? I saw the video...pop, pop and then Trump's hand immediately went up to his right ear. "Grazed" seems possible.
Indeed, why can't we even go one further and be even more descriptive of it. He got 'earmarked.'

There's loads of old political phrases about getting earmarks. However this time for once it's a special case, this one meets the direct definition of being a 'true' earmark.

Earmark is an old old agricultural word. Wikipedia says, "an earmark is a cut or mark in the ear of livestock animals such as cattle, deer, pigs, goats, camels or sheep, made to show ownership, year of birth or sex."

    Luckily this went nowhere.

Former President Donald Trump was wounded in an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday months after House Democrats proposed legislation to remove his Secret Service protection.

Democrat Bennie Thompson, the ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, introduced the Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act (HR 8081) on April 19. Democrat Reps. Yvette D. Clarke, Troy A. Carter Sr., Frederica Wilson, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Jasmine Crockett, Joyce Beatty, Barbara Lee, and Steve Cohen co-sposnsored the bill.

    From May:

News: There's a petition circulating inside the US Secret Service that flags concerns about "a number of recent Secret Service incidents indicative of inadequate training," a double standard in disciplinary actions, and a vulnerability "to potential insider threats" that could pose a risk to US nat sec. It was first shared Monday, I'm told, and has 39 signatures so far. Aim is to call for a congressional investigation, petition says.

Does she offer any proof at all of what she says?

Well, yes, but it wasn’t close to a direct hit. Like I said his ear wouldn’t be intact if the bullet even grazed it. The power of a round from a rifle does a lot more damage.
Actually not, that great damage occurs when a bullet encounters something solid enough for it to distort the bullets outer jacket, and make molten the soft inner core of lead.

The bullet does great damage to the tissues while at the same time the tissues causes great damage to the bullet.

In this case the ear is a very thin layer of tissue, the bullet would pass through, punching a hole, neither the bullet nor the ear would be greatly damaged. Wouldn't even slow down the bullet much.

So the media account you are quoting is notorious for lying about what they post. They are notorious liars. So I don’t believe anything they say as truth without further proof.

Did you ever remove the post of yours that misidentifies the shooter (it was from the NY Post - another outlet famous for posting false news stories)?

I don’t think there’s a hole in his ear, though. From what I could see the ear looks largely intact. At most some damage to the very outer part. I think the idea of the damage being from the bullet coming close is far more likely. I’ve also seen trauma docs on Twitter saying the bullet probably didn’t touch his ear. I suppose we will probably never know for sure.

    You said:

Would he feel better if Democrat politicians where saying to bad the shorter missed?

That's exactly what that Thompson staffer said.
Maybe. As I said that account lies all the time.

But we have numerous verified accounts from sitting GOP members of Congress blaming Biden and democrats when the shooter ended up being a registered R.

Not exactly the same. She says it as a joke, a terrible and stupid joke, but a joke. None of the posts from the GOP are jokes.

Anyone referring to Trump and Hitler in the same sentence to try to make some comparison between the two is making a moronic statement. Full stop.

I haven’t heard anyone here mention that, but I’ve certainly heard it here and there other places.

I may think that Trump’s rhetoric is incredibly dangerous for the country and that he clearly emboldens those who want violence and a christofascist state, but at some point one has to recognize that emotion and anger don’t make illogical takes logical.
