I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

There are no good arguments against just letting people wear their hair however they want.

If they want to look like cousin It, just get over it.
Yeah, I would say as long as the hair doesn't block more than half the face (for id reasons), kids should wear their hair however they want.

Yea. But your reasoning for post 2,283 was found in post 2285, in which you said the following:

    BullSheetBuddha” said:
I'd like to know who's in my 9th-grade classroom. You can't have 4 or 5 strands like that covering the face.

Which is patently absurd. If you don’t like people to wear hair that covers their faces, that’s your preference. And you should probably just get over it because styles change.

But to act like 4 or 5 strands makes identifying someone difficult is ridiculous. And if it’s because “those” strands happen to be thicker than “other” strands, well…

I'm afraid not. For security reasons you have to know who is walking your hallways and sitting in your classrooms from 12th grade on down to elementary school.

This doesn't give you that security unless you pin it back while you're in school:

This is my last post on the subject. If you don't get where I'm coming from too bad.

I’m a district administrator who also has 15 years of experience in the classroom. I’ve worked in a very white school district and a majority minority school district.

A kid with his hair in his face just isn’t a security threat. It’s not. And the fact that you’re singling out the black kid, with the black hairstyle, with the suggestion that his hairstyle automatically makes him a potential security threat is exactly the same problem we have with law enforcement in this country.

So you're admitting that there is a solution to your problem that doesn't involve banning dreadlocks, but you would rather ban them anyway.

    This is a funny place.

    my credentials

Unlike some others that shall go unmentioned.
Your brain apparently told you it wasn't a bad idea to post chimp and orangutan pictures in a racism thread instead of offering anything resembling an intelligent response to the reasonable observation that simply having long hair does not render individuals unrecognisable.

I don't think you should be holding it up as a credential at this point.

Nonsense. I posted reasonable responses long enough. Frankly, that guy wasn't debating he was harassing. Further, I'm surprised you stuck your nose in. You seem fairly sensible to me.

Point made towards the end of this video:

Basically, there is something bad happening, it disproportionately affects minorities

When there is help/aid etc. available it is often not disproportionately doled out to minorities, we saw it with PPP loans and help with farmers

Whenever aid does start going to the people most affected, cue the cries of anti white racism

Look, I'm not going to go on and on about this. I think while in grades 1 through 12, particularly in the big high schools with thousands of students, you should be able to identify your students at a glance. That's all.

Hair in their face doesn't prevent you from being able to identifying them.
