I am seeing some articles about a CNN whistleblower. My sources are only one sided, so I am a little skeptical of the validity.
However, apparently project Veritas has a whistleblower who wore a hidden camera to work.
The accusation is that CNN has been running their news with a tad of bias. (No surprise here for some of us) We will see how this plays out.

Isn't 'Project Veritas' the one that tried to dupe the Washington Post, and failed because it was such a bad effort?

Prediction: it'll be a few clips of some people expressing the same views you'll find in any workplace across the country, overblown to the extent you're not sure whether it's a parody or not.

James O'Keefe isn't - and shouldn't - get any benefit of the doubt at this point. Being guardedly skeptical of anything that comes out is probably wise. He doesn't have any credibility or integrity.

Moreover, the entry on his webpage is bizarre. Talking about yourself in the third person and including yourself in a list with Noam Chomsky?

The media has become an industrial system of production that manufactures consent. This is true whether said by Noam Chomsky, James O’Keefe, or Glenn Greenwald.

and somehow, irony is not lost on him when he types this:

the media has become an organ of propaganda that is only about commercialism, clicks, ratings, power and influence and political advocacy.

at around the same time when he asks for 50,000 clicks:

and his blog entry becomes even weirder:

Investigative reporters (the real ones) have the duty to go beyond what somebody wants us to publish. What journalists ought to do is simply engage in the empirical method — to a degree so real — that the resulting truths transfix and anesthetize. When people are able to see what is happening, it becomes more real. We show that transgressions are in fact transgressions. The way to achieve proper reforms is to precisely capture reality.

I have no idea if this is principled delusion or scamming people, but that entire entry reads as if it written by someone under the influence of something, be it mental or pharmacological

Maybe there's something here, but track record suggests more than likely not.

Then why not wait until you have a valid source to start a thread?

Just starting conversation. I have the same apprehension as OYE and Ward. If it turns out to be BS, I may not give them a click next time and totally write them off; much as I have done with the journalist who have put fake hit stories on Trump.

o_O Shocking! Do we really need a whistleblower to tell us CNN has been running their news with a tad of bias? Someone put that whistleblower in touch with Schiff's staff pronto.

imo, O'Keefe was worth writing off a long time ago. He's a legend in his own head.

Lazybones, doesn’t this seem like a desperate attempt to take attention away from all of the President’s problems?

Even if proven true, so what? Fox has a huge problem in this same area. We’ve seen many times how media shape what they report.

There’s a good idea I read somewhere a year or two ago. If you are reading or watching a story and you are feeling outraged, it’s possible your emotions are being manipulated. It’s a sign that you should step back and look at the story from a different source. We should all do that.

This guy is someone who’s all about manipulating his audience. He doesn’t have even a modicum of respectability.

We needed a whistleblower to tell us CNN has left bias? Or is there more to it I'm not catching?

    Thanks for the heads up.

He did some good work exposing big tech.

    Huh? I haven't posted yet...

But a slight left bias in news, a larger left bias in editorial, but a huge bias for sensationalism for CNN shouldn't shock anyone.

It is like saying you'll get wet standing in the rain.

They could have just talked to a CNN viewer... lol.

I think it is actually pretty smart. Many people think of CNN as the middle ground. msnbc to the left fox to the right and CNN in the middle. The president has continuously said this station was/is spreading fake news about him.
If this story holds true, CNN just handed him a very big stick to use in the election.

This reeks of being disingenuous. If you truly have apprehension (which would be warranted, given O'Keefe's track record), why start a thread with a title the treats a subject as legitimate (CNN Whistleblower) while completely burying the lede (James O'Keefe is a known liar). What's the point of such a misleading and incomplete thread title, especially given the fact that someone might take it as fact without actually looking into it.

o_O Shocking! Do we really need a whistleblower to tell us CNN has been running their news with a tad of bias? Someone put that whistleblower in touch with Schiff's staff pronto.

Exhibit A, lazy. Yuyi, do you believe James O'Keefe and Project Veritas have earned any benefit of the doubt?

My biggest issue is that we have reached full on crazy town where anything that isn't near worship of the current oval office occupant is seen as "biased" or "partisan".

Doing the math, the vast majority of the people working at professional news organizations attended a journalism school somewhere, probably at a large university. Educated urban people in general overwhelming lean progressive in their politics. So 2+2=4 here, and there is almost certainly bias in the CNN news room. And the MSNBC news room. And the CBS news room. And for all intents and purposes, the Fox news room. Minus the pundits paid to not lean progressive.

I think this is a boogyman that just isn't really the thing that they are often painted as.

    A related article:

More and more Republicans have a negative view of higher education. As crosswatt said, the vast majority of journalists have a degree from some college or university. Republicans have a growing distrust of anything having to do with college, thus it would follow they have a growing distrust with anything based on having a college degree.

Add to that the fact that the more educated a person is, the more likely they are to lean left and we get a growing sentiment from the right that media and education in general is left-biased. When the numbers were different only 20-30 years ago, the left wasn’t calling college education biased against the left, but now there’s definitely that accusation from the right.

In 1994, 39% of those with a four-year college degree (no postgraduate experience) identified with or leaned toward the Democratic Party and 54% associated with the Republican Party. In 2017, those figures were exactly reversed.

You should look up their media bias scores sometime.

So you seem to admit and be okay with the fact the Project Veritas is just doing Trump a favor?

CNN doesn’t do “fake news”. Project Veritas does that.

I thought you were more reasonable than this, I really did.
