Not really that shocking to anyone paying attention the last five years. The only question was whether Russia was working with the campaign, which the Mueller investigation was unable to confirm, but it was obvious Russia was working in Trump's interest.

And no doubt Putin feels he got his money's worth, just for January 6 alone. The elevation of Donald Trump was one of the worst things that ever happened to this country.

The report – “No 32-04 \ vd” – is classified as secret. It says Trump is the “most promising candidate” from the Kremlin’s point of view. The word in Russian is perspektivny.

There is a brief psychological assessment of Trump, who is described as an “impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex”.

There is also apparent confirmation that the Kremlin possesses kompromat, or potentially compromising material, on the future president, collected – the document says – from Trump’s earlier “non-official visits to Russian Federation territory”.

“It is acutely necessary to use all possible force to facilitate his [Trump’s] election to the post of US president,” the paper says.

This would help bring about Russia’s favoured “theoretical political scenario”. A Trump win “will definitely lead to the destabilisation of the US’s sociopolitical system” and see hidden discontent burst into the open, it predicts.

I agree that the more radical elements of any political party need to be reined in, I wish we were seeing more of that by the GOP. The Democrats are (so far) not going to the extreme like the GOP has. This difference is real, IMO, and makes the “both sides” argument more counterproductive at this point in time than valid. It comes across as excusing the current excesses of the GOP.
For every push to the middle left that some Democrats have attempted/pitched, the party has moderated/watered down if they have considered it at all.

For every push to the right that Republicans have attempted/pitched, the party has almost always accepted and passed/adopted. For goodness sake, they didn't even bother to enumerate a platform in the last election except "do whatever Trump and the far right of the party wants."

He likes to take advantage of people's confirmation bias. I learned that the hard way.
I usually go to Google news or thehill.com for my stuff and I've seen articles referencing things from the various different Trump books that are coming out right now and I hate when I click on one and it shows Michael Wolff is the author. It's ridiculous that he's still getting that sort of help in making money from the BS he writes.

No, no way. I am not for violence or mass hysteria.

Are you for or against race ID politics? It is a simple question. Why do you avoid?
I didn't avoid, I just wanted you to address the point I made.

Do you think racial identity politics is worse than leaders of a political party actually fomenting violence, overthrow of government, and hysteria regarding the election? I certainly do not.

I think racial identity politics has its place. Like many things, some of it gets taken too far. But broad-brushing politics based on race/racial identity as abhorrent when we still have a long, long way to go on race in this country I feel is just racial identity politics from the other side.

Confirmation bias is not a good thing. We all have it and must be avoided or controlled.
Yea, like when he attacks CNN and it feels right because it was what we already believed.

"Ignore it at last, ignore it at last, thank God almighty, we've ignored it at last."

I wonder if the same logic would apply to say...antisemitism...I'm wondering if any Jewish people (regardless of nationality) claim that ignoring the history of the Holocaust or contemporary antisemitism would somehow make it all go away. I'm wondering if any experts at the National Holocaust Museum would advocate forgetting or ignoring antisemitism as an effective tool to counter, or fight antisemitism as a preventative measure to avoid another Holocaust. Or better yet, there's a Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University in Michigan. I'm wondering if the experts there would advocate just ignoring racist language, images, rhetoric and behavior with the hope that it will just *poof* disappear.

We're well past "you can't be this naive" awhile back, folks. It's patently absurd to equate anti-racism to racism itself, and it's intellectually insulting to claim otherwise.

What I really saw was massive systemic racism. The capital police had virtually no security Because they assumed white protesters would not be violent. That is clear racism. If the protesters have been black the security would’ve been greater.

This is a really strange take

The security around the building was minimal. Compare that to the security they had surrounding the monuments during a BLM demonstration in Washington. How do you explain a bunch a yahoos with no weapons storming the center of the USA government with virtually no opposition? The cops assumed white people would be pacific in a demonstration in DC. That is racism! They assumed whites would be less violent than POC. Why was the security so poor?

Thank you for being honest. Race ID politics needs to stop on both sides.

I see the same Russia Trump media playbook is still in effect. The same people pushing more Russia BS are amplifying this story eventhough they all know the author is a fraud.

Even some of the biggest Russia hawks are skeptical of this story.

When MSNBC won't touch a Russiagate story then you know its bad.

    LOL @ "Scam artist"

yet yall put one in the White House for 4 long years.

    LOLOLOL.

Should organizations like BLM cease to exist, or cease protesting? Should things like the Million Man March never happen again? Should the Congressional Black Caucus disband?

only thing I see is you are the one making these assumptions.
How would you even begin to know what other people are thinking?
I could easily turn it around and say the cops were racist by having more force for BLM because they assumed POC would be more violent or whatever

Ideally cops should be ready for the demonstration and not assume skin color will determine how violent or non-violent the demonstration will be.

Once the Trump supporters reached the grounds of the Capitol, they were left in the hands of the quickly outmanned Capitol Police, shattering windows and freely roaming the halls and vandalizing lawmakers’ offices. The Capitol was more heavily guarded for recent Black Lives Matter protests than Wednesday’s demonstration, where Trump supporters were mostly white men.

President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr., who spent 36 years in the Senate, criticized the stark contrast between the militarized and sometimes violent phalanxes deployed against protesters of racial injustice over the summer and the outnumbered officers who cringed and retreated from — or posed for a selfie with — the mostly white pro-Trump mob.

“No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol,” Mr. Biden said in a video statement. “We all know that’s true, and it is unacceptable.”

I do not understand why you think this is a strange take on the issue. The police was clearly racist.

    It's not racist. it's political.

if it had been an Antifa rally, Trump would have had the capital on lockdown.

If it had been a blacks for Trump rally, there would have been almost no security.

IN an ideal world skin color should not be an issue. It would be treated no differently than height, weight, or any other mundane physical trait of humans. This may not be realistic today, but we have to start somewhere.

I think you are missing a very important point here. The cops that were there had nothing to do with why the security was so poor. They don’t make the decisions on the level of security, they just deal with the situation at hand. THeir leadership makes that decision, exactly who in the chain of their leadership bungled this can be debated however….

Semantics, the leadership was racist. No question. This a very good example of systemic racism. The chief of police resigned.

    Yea, no.

this is not an example of systemic racism, and i believe that you are trying to muddy the waters hoping to get a liberal to say something is systemic racism that clearly is not.

You are trying to build a meta straw man.
