Biden has been going off on tangents and saying dumb stuff since the 70s. He's known for it.

Stop consistently underfunding the Immigration Court. The backlog is over 1,000,000 cases right now. Give them the money, judges, and resources needed to begin processing these cases in a reasonable amount of time.

Then, anyone found ineligible for asylum should be presented with other options to stay in the country.
Disagree. The US should reach a Safe Third Country agreement with Mexico. This should have been part of NAFTA in the 90s and Trump should have done it with the NAFTA 2.0 agreement.

Yes, we should fund immigration courts, but Mexico shouldn’t be a pass through nation. The only at-the-border claims that should be allowed are amnesty for those not arriving through Mexico/Canada or claims of citizenship.

The idea that if you just show up, then you can stay isn’t acceptable. Part of sovereignty is controlling borders. Part of being part of a social safety net is choosing who gets to be apart of that net.

That said, we should have a robust work permit system. No one should be working illegally. It allows exploitation of workers and suppresses wages. Immigration requests should be made in one’s home country or from a safe third country.

At some point we have to fix the reason they are leaving. They aren’t leaving their homes because they think the US is going to take care of them. That may be why the choose to come here, but they would still be fleeing their country if we had armed predator drones manning our border.

We’ve had an annual immigration crisis every year for the last 15 years (except 2020). Some years the media notices it and we all care until summer comes and then we forget and think it must have solved itself, at least until the next time the media decides it’s important.

I think some of that was him trying to shoehorn in talking points he wanted to make that no one was asking about.

The delays in answering some of those questions aren't a great look, but I guess if the other option is "off the cuff wrong answer", I'd have to go with slow. Hell, maybe he felt under the gun to where he knew he'd stutter if he spoke up quick.

All that said, I think the Occam's Razor here is he's an older man speaking like an older man. Do with that what you will - I think I'm already on the record about wishing we had someone younger in there.

Yea. I have no doubt that age is causing him to stutter more often, and become more self-conscious about rambling; which leads to him cutting himself off mid ramble, which only makes the optics worse.

I do not think he is impaired in any meaningful way, but it sure give Sean Hannity types something to talk about.

I guess this tracker is going to be a bit of a stretch here and there, since this president actually tweets coherent things.

The original "100 million vaccinations in 100 days" quote ? I'd been led to believe that the US was averaging 900,000 daily vaccinations when Trump left office ?
Oh, is that how that works?

Hey everyone, I just sprinted 100m in 12.5 seconds! So I've already achieved running a mile in under three and a half minutes! Where's my medal?
