Would you get tested if you have no symptoms, have not been around anyone that has been sick or have been in a hotspot area?

You could shed for more than 14 days, because Covid doesn’t behave like other diseases. Also, you would probably be safer to participate in routine activities after 3 weeks with less concern about spreading Covid, since it is much more dangerous than a flu or cold.
If I am isolating myself it would not matter. There is good incentive not to get tested, what with health authorities turning your information over to police and the small chance of being exposed while getting tested.

But really are you and all of you immediate family really quarantined for like three weeks with no other human contact?

Not one stop at a store, your kids did not say hi to neighborhood kids, did not use a atm or gas pump for like three weeks, did not get mail or packages?

I don't understand the fear of testing. With a couple tests it could take a huge amount of stress off of you.

If you have antibodies your system already beat it. That has to relieve a ton of anxiety.

I would take a test for antibodies. I was big time sick for a couple of weeks in late February after coming back from Jamaica. Went to the urgent care and got antibiotics and an inhaler but back then information was just being released concerning the virus so who knows what it was?

Of course. We don't know enough about this virus to make me comfortable enough to think it can't kill a reasonably healthy (at the time) person within a few days. I've seen too many stories of that nature.

Now the real question...shouldn't the US provide free testing for anyone and everyone? I understand that it can sometimes be a numbers game and clinics can be overwhelmed and I respect that...but ideally, shouldn't we?

This patchwork, unmitigated for-profit HC system we have in the richest country on Earth is an absolute joke.

I’m taking the anti-body test later today, and would definitely take the Covid test if it comes back negative. I want to know whether I have it and asymptomatic so I can immediately warn everyone I’ve been around.
Agree and same here. I've been as careful as I can but have been frequenting small businesses (restaurants) for pickup orders over the last few months. I'm trying to spend as much as possible in my neighborhood to help keep these people afloat.

It could be really easy to think 'hey ive been around a LOT and I still feel just fine' and come to the conclusion that i'm asymptomatic, when that dangerous attitude could make me lax and more prone to relaxing PPE,etc. and getting the virus.

Hell, I just don't need this virus right now for no other reason that I can't afford to miss work (small business shop ourselves.).
