    there are 16 more countries ( teams ) in 2026. 48 countries.

    prior to this WC, it was always 32

    thats an increase of 50% of teams.

    Qatar 2022 WC had just about 100,000,000 ticket demands. 50% more = 150,000,000

    what a coincidence. 16 more teams

    Oh God, he's citing a December 2025 article from fifa in response to reports of people cancelling their tickets in the last couple of weeks.

    he did earlier on Iran thread in regards to "they may not be as big a military threat" ( today ) - and proceeded to post an article from July 4 2025.

    The article is 14 days old. And the number of ticket requests is 150 million. So they are doing ok.

    its quite a bit different when these. are actually requests to buy 150 million tickets.

    Lol I have a request in from back when they first announced sale.

    They haven't pulled my number in any random draw to date.

    And I still am not clear as to if I do get an opportunity, I have no idea what games and where. Very limited on details when I first signed up.

    And as I stated above, they added 16 teams/countries starting 2026.

    So makes sense that you would see 4 to 5 million per country inquire, which leads to 60 to 80 million more than 2024.

    If you added 16 teams and had same interest as when you had 32 teams, that would have been quite a motzah ball hanging out there.

    You do understand its not 6mm in the US, right?

    Canada and Mexico hosting 13 matches each and Mexico stadiums are the largest of all venues seating capacity wise.

    WC sells. It's every 4 years and this year 16 teams that 4 years ago wouldnt have made it, make it. Several are 1st timers and several others haven't made in several WCs. So it would stand to reason inquiries are up.

    But the info comes from FIFA. I suggest you take their "reports" with a grain of salt. You won't find a more corrupt organization. ( well 2nd most )
     
    Yeah, the pattern that is emerging is that AI doesn’t really consider the source. He just finds a source that backs up what he wants and goes with it. Hence believing glowing reports from people who have every incentive to create glowing reports and zero incentives to report anything but. Especially when nobody has any way to verify what is being claimed.

    It’s marketing 101. Come on, be smarter than that.
     
    World Cup aspirations for supporters of two prominent African football nations have been thrown into disarray following the implementation of a US travel ban. Senegal and Ivory Coast were added in December to a list of countries facing partial entry restrictions into the United States, a co-host of the upcoming tournament alongside Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

    The restrictions have caused considerable dismay among fans currently following their teams at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. For those without pre-existing visas, the new rules effectively prevent travel to the US to witness the World Cup.

    “I don’t know why the American president would want teams from certain countries not to take part. If that’s the case, they shouldn’t agree to host the World Cup,” Senegal supporter Djibril Gueye told The Associated Press in Tangier, Morocco.

    “It’s up to the United States to provide the conditions, the means, and the resources to allow the qualified countries so everyone can go and support their team,” Gueye said.

    President Donald Trump cited “ screening and vetting deficiencies ” as the main reason for the suspensions. Fans from Iran and Haiti, two other countries who have qualified for the World Cup, will be barred from entering the United States as well; they were included in the first iteration of the travel ban announced by the Trump administration.………..
