Under various recently-organized titles, Million MAGA March, Stop the Steal, and others, Trump supporters are planning to rally in support of Trump (for what specific purpose is likely in the eye of the beholder). The first is scheduled for tomorrow at noon EST at Freedom Plaza, about three blocks from the White House.

Concerns about extremists joining them are growing, along with concerns about opposing groups and anti-facists.

Another very real concern is if things do get rough, will federal law enforcement (integral to law enforcement in that part of DC) leave it to DC to handle?

Mostly, it appears, the police were “hands off” which probably contributed to the small number of arrests. It also begs the question about the relatively more aggressive police responses to BLM marches. This one had vandalism and trespassing, so it’s not like they were better behaved.

There are many within that group that aren't ready to go back to the margins.

Trump gave them a sense of being relevant and don't want to lose that position.

Can't really tell anything from these pictures tho. I've been to a lot of large events in DC and I've never seen the Monument barricaded, so that seems not normal. They wouldn't need to jump a barricade to get there.

As for the weapons violations, that doesn't surprise me. DC is super strict about carrying weapons in the city. A lot of these folks like their guns and think they can carry them anywhere.

I'm actually surprised it wasn't that bad. I was expecting worse.

Safe to say that all of this is bullshirt. I mean, none of this has held up in court, and as far as I know, they haven't brought up massive complaints about Dominion, just a few small ones, that were inaccurate.

Sorry, but there is nothing ok about this. He's nuts. This is dangerous. Add in the fact he's also retweeting the complains about the 'assault on liberty' for trying to put a lid on a pandemic. Shows that he doesn't give a shirt about anyone.

So, looks like there were 20 arrests, 1 stabbing and a few people beat up last night. There's lots of tweets from both left oriented accounts and right oriented accounts alleging they were being harassed/attacked.

Not great, but it could have been a lot worse I guess.

So, Andy Ngo was doing Andy Ngo things... and getting re-tweeted by Trump. He tweeted the last few seconds of a video that made it look like 'leftists' were beating a Trumper. But neglected to show the beginning, where the Trumper started the altercation.

These dudes are so dangerous. I mean, sure, the wackos themselves are dangerous. But you have people like Andy and others who give them a platform and a legitimacy.

This goes beyond a censorship issue, imo. I am pretty stridently anti-censorship, but this dude crosses the line.

I don't know of a single person who is actually anti-censorship. People may be cautious about the use of censorship, but everyone recognizes that there are some things that warrant being censored. Though there are disagreements over what things should and shouldn't be censored, everyone supports the censorship of one thing or another.

I actually don't mind censorship as long as it's applied in the same way to everyone. But yeah, I'd rather not censor anything but the most obvious cases.

Proud Boys doing Proud Boy things: they are removing BLM banners and signs (at least one from a church) and then burning them.
