Apart from this being a blatant First Amendment violation and highly fascist - the craziest thing about this whole "the president can cut off all federal funding for anything at any time" is that its going to come back around - and the next president will have a different agenda and do the same thing. It's illegal and just a terrible way to run a country.

We don’t need to see, we’ve already seen

Okay Mr. Both Sides, tell us specifically what the Biden Administration did that is comparable to what Trump and Musk are doing now
Historically both parties have abused things such as the filibuster rules in the Senate especially when it comes to the judiciary. I have seen Biden and Schumer on both sides of this issue for decades. That’s one example.

Both parties have problems with corruption. Both parties have problems with sexual harassment in the workplace.

Lately the Dems are all worried about the weaponization of the DOJ and the FBI for political purposes. And yet Obama’s AG proudly and loudly proclaimed himself to be POTUS’s “wingman” while slow walking congressional investigations into the administration. The investigation of 501(c)3 applications of Tea Party organizations comes to mind. Sec Clinton caused the destruction of evidence under a valid subpoena. Biden had his share of abuses of problems with classified documents. Not to mention the various investigations launched into the incoming Trump administration with unsubstantiated and unverified evidence.

There is all kinds of abuse going on by both parties. You may pretend it’s one sided. But it is not. Republicans do not trust Democrats anymore than Democrats trust Republicans. They have both abused their authority in the past and neither party is ready or willing to stop the merry go round and hold everyone to the same set of standards and the same set of rules.

I have watched this go on for decades and to hear supposedly intelligent people pretend it’s only the “other” party is laughable. It’s like watching school kids in a playground fight.

All of the gamesmanship with the filibuster and the judiciary can be traced back to one person and his successful plan to remake the judiciary in this country. You know who that is.

There have been examples of Dems engaging in both corruption and sexual harassment. Though they are limited and most have met accountability. It's a field day on the right. You literally can't throw a stone without hitting somebody in this administration that isn't corrupt or a sexual harasser.

Lol, doesn't hold a candle to Trump's DOJ and administration.

The investigation of 501(c)3 applications of Tea Party organizations comes to mind.

Debunked.

Sec Clinton caused the destruction of evidence under a valid subpoena.

Butter emails, give me a break.

Biden had his share of abuses of problems with classified documents.

This is why its difficult to have a logical conversation with Republicans.

You mean substantiated and verified evidence?

You are content to blame both sides but you fail to see your own (and people like yourself) responsibility for this downward spiral. When you play this false, asymmetric, both sides fault game and fail to hold the radical right wing Republicans (which are all of them now) responsible for what has happened, it only increase the speed at which we devolve.

I appreciate @coldseat's substantial post above, but frankly I think the regurgitated garbage spewed up there doesn't deserve it.

"Absolute bollocks" would have been adequate.

Right back at you coldseat. Right back at you.

"Have both sides done bad things?" wasn't the question

If all the things you stated were 100% true do you think those are on the same level as what Trump and Musk are doing now?

Catcalling a woman and raping her are both on the spectrum of bad male behavior, but they are NOT the same, not even remotely close to being the same

Are they to you? Or, would you suggest "both sides do bad things to women?"

In which @TampaJoe attempts to do the equivalent of a playground "takes one to know one!", but fails, because it doesn't make any sense whatsoever to apply @coldseat's post to @coldseat.

That'd be really embarrassing for someone who could comprehend what happened.

And some still think MAGAs have some semblance of intelligence.

End up dealing with adults that have children level mentality.

And they proudly display their idiocy. Like a peacock.

Right. All he's done is ignore the worst things Republicans have been doing, and even then he's had to misrepresent and repeat debunked claims about Democrats to even attempt to draw an equivalence.

That in itself underlines the fact that it really is one sided here.

Most everything he cited was bunk. 🤔

He either cited lies told by the GOP or exaggerated claims of malfeasance that were unproven.

The fact is we have never seen a US President act as lawlessly as this current one. He can lie to himself all he wants. He just wants the things that Trump is doing to happen, so he comforts himself a couple of ways. “I didn’t vote for him.” “Both sides!”

He’s on the wrong side of history. It’s evident to most everyone here. 🤷‍♀️

This guy...

All he could say was "Oooooo, look at the pretty signature"! Dude had to get Starmer to tell him what the letter said.

Not really. The IRS paid civil penalties and apologized.
What was debunked was that it was only right wing organizations that were targeted. In truth, the IRS targeted progressive organizations as well. Sigh. Explaining things to you is tiresome. Really.
