Oh, but he's only joking - well, maybe, so they say. Or sort of joking with Canada, and maybe not joking with Greenland - saying that "ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity" doesn't sound like a joke . . . and um, not sure about what the about Panama Canal thing is?

I hear where you're coming from, but decades of repair the damage done is a lot better than even more damage being done. Things are already bad, but they will get much worse if we let them. Apathy, cynicism, and hopelessness are our biggest enemies right now. The Republicans and Trump can't win unless too many of us give into apathy, cynicism or hopelessness.

My concern/cynicism is voters with their impatience and their tendency to forget past happenings/results involving (R). Things can/will have to take time, there will be a no quick fix. I just don't have much faith in the voters, or that THIS TIME they will have learned, or realized, just how forked up things have gotten(or how long it will take to repair).

We already have a history of similar cases, where a (R) get elected, forks up the economy, a (D) come in and tries to clean up the mess... sorta starts to get things cleaned up after 4 years, but still lots of work to be done... yet voters are impatient, and votes for a (R) again - which once again forks up the economy (and a lot of other things along the way) - and the cycle goes on and on.

You need to fix your education system and do something about SoMe!

In Scandinavia most schools start teaching source evaluation and critical thinking in FIFTH grade and when you write papers from 7th grade you have to add a source list and evaluation to every paper. They do not teach WHAT to think but HOW to EVALUATE the information they use and recieve. Grades are based both on contents but also on how the sources are evaluated.

I know that will be hard to do in the US - for one thing it really pushes the teachers and those who writes the educational materials. Another issue will definitely be parents who really don't want their kids questioning things.

Took me a second to figure out SoMe is an abbreviation of Social Media. I don't know if it's intentional, but it's the perfect abbreviation, because SoMe is "so me" appealing.

That's great. I read this article earlier today about Finland starting media literacy training at 3 years old. Just another really important area that most of Europe is way ahead of the US.

"For decades, the Nordic nation has woven media literacy, including the ability to analyze different kinds of media and recognize disinformation, into its national curriculum for students as young as 3 years old. The coursework is part of a robust anti-misinformation program to make Finns more resistant to propaganda and false claims, especially those crossing over the 1,340-kilometer (830-mile) border with neighboring Russia."

Yeah. The zeitgeist of American culture has always been more authoritarian than some realize and most won't ever admit.

“the dominant predator force”

We have given a bunch of beta males the superhuman powers of strength. And they are euphoric with these powers

Imagine having the physical ability to walk into any setting and over-power any person there. That would make you drunk on that power.

Now, there is a place or two that has a guy that is close in strength as you, but is also a little crazy. So if you were to engage them in a fight, they might stab you with their knife but you didn't bring your knife.

So you avoid those rooms, and keep to the rooms where you know you rule.

That's the US Admin/MAGA today.

We saw glimpses over the years. Started with the "yelling down" of opposition. Yell, name call, degrade and make them literally cower, right in front of you. (Journalists l, primary opponents etc) it works.

Now, they expanded on that with the power of US military/ federal agents and instead of name calling, its using their strength domestically (immigration crackdown) and internationally.

But they still will avoid 2 rooms.

And to my point, just now, Sent Rick Scott.

We arent done.

President Donald Trump’s administration is considering sending lump sum payments to Greenlanders, a new report reveals.

U.S. officials, including White House aides, have discussed sending lump sum payments to Greenlanders, ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 per person, in an attempt to convince them to join the U.S, Reuters reports.

A source told Reuters the idea of lump sum payments isn’t new, but that discussions about these payments have become more serious recently. A source also told the outlet that the Trump administration is hoping to carry forward the momentum from the arrest of Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro last week.…….
