    I thought this would be an interesting idea, prompted by this tweet.



    I was five years old. I remember hearing my parents and neighbors talking about the Cuban Missile Crisis at the time. We lived near an Air Force base that had B-52 bombers and people were saying we would definitely be a target of any missiles launched from Cuba.

    On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was fatally shot outside his apartment building in NYC.

    It was shocking at the time, and I believe he had recently been working on new music after years away from composing.

    I sure remember that chill day, and the walking death painful day which followed it.

    My cousin and I had a wake for him starting as soon as we heard. We stayed up all night drinking beer. At one point we had to go out to the beer store to get more beer.

    Of course we drove. In a 64 1/2 Mustang convertible that didn't have a top. Did I mention it was a chill day, well it snowed.


    Here's today's

    On December 9, 1640, settler and local smart-arse, Hugh Bewitt, was banished from the Puritan Massachusetts Colony when he declared himself free of original sin. He claimed that all the sins he committed were copies of other people’s sins. The leaders of the colony, who were Puritans, couldn’t deal with that level of creativity and escorted him out of the colony before he could infect the rest of the population with his intelligence and humor.

    any help getting registered for this OR the saints sports board?
    im obviously regis'd here since im typing here....saints board tells me
    they dont see any of my regis, that im not registered yet my name shows up there.
    tells me they dont have my email addy yet ive gotten mail from them and it shows up there.

    id like to post Saints brd but so far cant get it done thru registering. sigh.
     
    so now ive got to enter all these 'codes' keep list of codes and i still cant get on Saints.
    im not getting anywhere here.
