After months of internal arguing among Democrats over whether to impeach President Donald Trump, the dam is finally breaking in favor of trying to remove him from office. The Washington Post reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would announce a formal impeachment inquiry on Tuesday, following a bombshell report that Trump illegally asked Ukraine’s government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, one of his political opponents. (He essentially admitted to having done so over the weekend.)

“Now that we have the facts, we’re ready,” Pelosi said Tuesday morning at a forum hosted by The Atlantic. At 5 p.m. the same day, she was back with more. "The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the constitution, especially when the president says Article Two says I can do whatever I want," referring to the segment of the Constitution that defines the power of the executive branch of the government. Pelosi's message was that checks and balances of those branches are just as central to the Constitution. And one more thing: "Today, I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry," she said at a conference broadcast on Twitter by the Huffington Post. ...

We wouldn't be as involved in this forum nor following these proceedings as closely if we didn't. We merely think what Trump has done is wrong and disqualifies him from office.

Not one person here has questioned your love for country.

We have consistently questioned your blind loyalty to Trump/Republicans even in the face of evidence that clearly indicates wrongdoing.

We cant stop because yall wont stop obfuscating and attempting to rationalize to anyone that what Trump is doing is BEST for country. When he could care less about this country and more about furthering his OWN personal endeavors.

And to add to that, it has been exceedingly rare to hear a Trump supporter acknowledge how problematic the accusation here is, or that it is an impeachable offense. Not that I believe that there wouldn't be Democrats, and maybe many of them, who would defend a Democratic president in this scenario... but that's not the situation at hand.

i don't think there's any evidence to support your first statement - or at least not much at all

and i would add that what you have professed is love for a mythological past - it's mythological b/c it tells a very compartmentalized story. it is not true in any complete sense
not calling you out, bc i recognize something similar in myself - i do not love this (or any country), but i do love what it could become - which is also probably a myth

Who becomes president if Trump is removed?

And as you answer that to yourself, keep in mind that is who Democrat’s are saying they are ok with until 2020 in pursuing the removal of Trump. A radical that has enough competency to actually shape the country in a way Democrat’s and opponents of Trump would find deeply disturbing. It’s doubtful Pence keeps with several of the draconian immigration policies, but his willingness to use executive power for an extreme conservative agenda is all but guaranteed. And his ability to focus and gets things done makes him a likely more effective radical than Trump.

But we can disagree on policy objectives for the country, even the ways in which we treat one another, but if we want to keep this democracy, what Trump has so far gotten away with in terms of abusing and corrupting his office can not stand, and the danger emerging is that for short-term political gain, and impenetrable tribalism, many of you in the country are seemingly more than ok with sacrificing that as long as it keeps your tribe and tribal leader in power.

I don’t mind having to live with Pence if it means restoring these critical norms and institutions we need in good health to remain a functioning democracy that remains credible domestically and on the worlds stage, but by your reply you do not feel the same, and based on a lot of sentiment out there mirroring yours, you are not alone, and that is very troubling.

Boy, Nunes really believe his audience is as dumb as him. He should know that when their hearings are done, the House will vote again on whether or not their findings should be taken up by the Judiciary Committee.

For all we know, Vindman could be the WB. He heard the call, tried to report the call to Morrison and he did not respond to his request for a meeting. He then reported it to NSC counsel, but nothing came from that either.

I ask because it doesn’t matter. Their testimony is not material any more. It had been verified.

the whole point of keeping sources anonymous, whether it be anonymous news sources or whistleblowers, is to give the informant confidence that he or she won’t face retaliation. That is a universal trust we all have in this country right now. Once that trust is gone, it isn’t coming back.

I will say the though; I think there should be real, criminal consequences for fake anonymous sources or quotes for false reporting, or falsely filing a WB complaint.
