After months of internal arguing among Democrats over whether to impeach President Donald Trump, the dam is finally breaking in favor of trying to remove him from office. The Washington Post reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would announce a formal impeachment inquiry on Tuesday, following a bombshell report that Trump illegally asked Ukraine’s government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, one of his political opponents. (He essentially admitted to having done so over the weekend.)

“Now that we have the facts, we’re ready,” Pelosi said Tuesday morning at a forum hosted by The Atlantic. At 5 p.m. the same day, she was back with more. "The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the constitution, especially when the president says Article Two says I can do whatever I want," referring to the segment of the Constitution that defines the power of the executive branch of the government. Pelosi's message was that checks and balances of those branches are just as central to the Constitution. And one more thing: "Today, I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry," she said at a conference broadcast on Twitter by the Huffington Post. ...

There has been multiple convictions and people have gone to jail and the only thing that saved Trump jr. was ignorance of the law...

You keep mentioning this without going into those crimes.

Anyway, it reminds me - I think you are just on the verge of seeing some folks wish they were not so fond of playing around with these process crimes. Sidney Powell has done some fine work.

It's not vengeance she is after, but a reckoning.

I both cited and linked to the quote about why Trump jr. wasn't charged. It was not because he did not break the law but because it could not be proven that he KNEW he broke it.

I have no preference for either republicans or democrats - but I do have a great preference for democracy and the rule of law. If people break the laws or abuse their powers, I don't care what they call themself.

It wasn't a question of "if" Russia interfered with the election; we already knew that.
That's really weird. "We" already knew that? Then why did the Republicans claim the Russians didn't interfere for what, the first 8-12 months?
You keep explaining, but we have the ruling on our side.
Actually, you don't. His report did not exonerate Trump -- another lie. He didn't find enough evidence to charge the President with Criminal Conspiracy, but he didn't find "nothing" and found multiple examples of obstruction by the Trump administration.

I hear yah, and I think you are going to get to display that non partisan love for justice pretty soon.

You seem to have followed this pretty closely, and yet I have not seen you express very much concern about the origins of the Russia drama. When you first saw this line of questions and answers, did you ever think one of these men seems pretty confident and the other looks like someone just walked over his grave? Yeah, I think some folks from Mueller's team are going to need to answer some questions as well.

In your statement above, would you consider "KNEW" to be interchangeable with "intent"?

Yeah, I think some folks from Mueller's team are going to need to answer some questions as well.

I am sure they will welcome the chance to prove they absolutely did nothing wrong. I am old enough to remember last week when it was the norm to embrace all investigations in order to prove that you are innocence.

His report did not exonerate Trump
It wasn't his job to exonerate Trump and Trump didn't need exoneration. It was his job to prove that Trump committed criminal conspiracy and he failed to do that so there is no need to prove a negative. As far as obstruction of justice goes, I don't blame any US citizen, not even the President, for not cooperating with a politically-motivated sham investigation. Maybe they can charge Trump with obstruction of injustice.

Well - I have Trumps own words

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,”

President Donald Trump on Monday claimed he's receiving unfair scrutiny because of the "phony emoluments clause," as he defended his prior decision to host next year's G-7 summit at his Doral resort in Miami.

well since he did break the law the only way it could be consideret without intent would be ignorance. If he knew then it would imply intent since he went ahead with the meeting with the purpose of receiveing the promised "dirt"

Wait, why are you consistently arguing that the culpability is on one side? It was just a post or two ago that you were trying convince us that you just sought justice no matter where that led. And yet, I don't detect the slightest bit of curiosity on your part when it comes to the IC's role in the origins of this mess.

    Something's not adding up.

I thought this was the Trump impeachment thread.

That's another thing some folks are going to have to come to grips with - all of this is related. There are some people who desperately need Trump impeached in the hopes they can stop Barr and company.
