After months of internal arguing among Democrats over whether to impeach President Donald Trump, the dam is finally breaking in favor of trying to remove him from office. The Washington Post reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would announce a formal impeachment inquiry on Tuesday, following a bombshell report that Trump illegally asked Ukraine’s government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, one of his political opponents. (He essentially admitted to having done so over the weekend.)

“Now that we have the facts, we’re ready,” Pelosi said Tuesday morning at a forum hosted by The Atlantic. At 5 p.m. the same day, she was back with more. "The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the constitution, especially when the president says Article Two says I can do whatever I want," referring to the segment of the Constitution that defines the power of the executive branch of the government. Pelosi's message was that checks and balances of those branches are just as central to the Constitution. And one more thing: "Today, I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry," she said at a conference broadcast on Twitter by the Huffington Post. ...

My concern is "if" Trump is not found guilty and "if" Trump wins in 2020 will the Democrats continue to hound his every move for the next 4 years?

I like the part where this happened a year before Biden announced his candidacy.

    Yea that is interesting.

I wonder what was really going on way back then?

The ambassador was not liked among the corrupt forces in Ukraine. It seems like Trump was in bed with the corrupt forces in Ukraine before Biden even announced.

    I wonder why?

    They most definitely will.

Trump is corrupt. He will just become less restrained if he wins re-election.

If Trump were to somehow be Re-elected, people should flood the streets and not leave until Trump is gone.

Well, yeah. It's the only crumb that doesn't make Trump look bad.

It's like when your team gets crushed 55-0 and you insist on talking about how well the punter did.
Except in this case the 'team' isn't Rep or Dem. It's the one we're all on together. Team America.

except it still does make Trump look bad. Now we need to find out why he was so interested in Ukraine back then, what was his angle, why was he so receptive to getting rid of the ambassador from the say so of someone he supposedly didn’t even know, etc. etc.

And why was he having dinner with two Russian mob connected figures and taking their advice on the Ukrainian ambassador? Even if they donated to his campaign, is there no vetting before you get a nearly private audience with Trump?

It makes it look like the Biden issue was just an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

It would benefit Putin if she were gone and replaced by someone that would allow Russian oligarchs unfettered access to corrupt entities in Ukraine.

Former national security adviser John Bolton reportedly claims in his as-yet unpublished memoir that President Trump sought to tie hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to Ukraine to his requests for the country's leaders to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden (D) and his son Hunter.

Multiple sources familiar with Bolton's writings told The New York Times that Bolton writes that President Trump personally told him that $391 million in aid to Ukraine should be frozen until Ukrainian officials announced the investigations, including one into the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

The book, which does not have a publishing date as of yet, has been submitted to the White House for review. White House officials did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill on the report.

He actually gloated about releasing that call summary, which shows how clueless he really is because even though it’s incomplete, it shows exactly how he is conducting foreign policy solely for his own political gain.

That's actually not Trump being clueless, that's a tactic he uses quite often. It's a tactic addapted from the Nazi playbook of misinformation. To basically claim the most indefensible position possible, in this case the "perfect call", and redefine it as completely passive and normal. It's how he shifts so easily from between extreme and contradictory positions on a dime. It's also a test of his followers loyalty and commitment to him. For Trump to be able to redefine their reality and command unquestioned fealty. It's very effective.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump told his national security adviser he wanted to maintain a freeze on military assistance to Ukraine until it aided political investigations into his Democratic rivals, according to a report in The New York Times on Sunday.

The newspaper said John Bolton’s description of his exchange with Trump appears in drafts of his forthcoming book.

The revelation challenges the defense offered up by Trump and his attorneys in his Senate impeachment trial and raises the stakes as the chamber decided this week whether to seek sworn testimony from Bolton and other witnesses.............

And you can pre-order the book on Amazon. Coincidence?

How many of politicians, media, etc. have written books for quick bucks? Don't these politicians have something like a NDR to prevent classified info from getting out?

It would be illegal for anyone to put classified information in a book. Nothing in Bolton's book will be classified. Bolton and his publishers would have serious legal issues if it did.
