After months of internal arguing among Democrats over whether to impeach President Donald Trump, the dam is finally breaking in favor of trying to remove him from office. The Washington Post reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would announce a formal impeachment inquiry on Tuesday, following a bombshell report that Trump illegally asked Ukraine’s government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, one of his political opponents. (He essentially admitted to having done so over the weekend.)

“Now that we have the facts, we’re ready,” Pelosi said Tuesday morning at a forum hosted by The Atlantic. At 5 p.m. the same day, she was back with more. "The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the constitution, especially when the president says Article Two says I can do whatever I want," referring to the segment of the Constitution that defines the power of the executive branch of the government. Pelosi's message was that checks and balances of those branches are just as central to the Constitution. And one more thing: "Today, I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry," she said at a conference broadcast on Twitter by the Huffington Post. ...

Here is the good news, after the Senate hears the opening statements it will vote on whether the articles should be dismissed. Assuming that the vote is in favor of the President, the Senate can go back to work.

At that time, there will be Senate investigations into corruption in the Ukraine, ie Bidens et al. I know that will make everyone happy, because I have heard from folks on each side say that the Bidens should be investigated.

It is overturning the last election and trying to stack the cards in the next one.
    Jim Everett is correct....

Trying say otherwise is just lying to try and convince yourself it's a just cause when it just a political circus side show...
he's correct bc you say he's correct or do you have anything to back that up?
(don't do what you accuse others of doing in the very next sentence you wrote)

Why didn’t they investigate Biden before now? Hunter working for Burisma was not a secret we only just found out about.

LOL, but it is no secret that the Left did not like Trump winning the Presidency, especially after the inflammatory way in which he ran his campaign.

    A few gems...
    1. He will pay legal fees to those who get into physical altercations in his behalf (wow)
    2. We do not want people immigrating from shirthole countries (statue of liberty says hi)
    3. Lying about his previous dealings in Russia
    4. We will not complain if the police arrest someone and on the way to the station accidentally rough them up.
    5. We will make Mexico pay for the wall
    6. We will make China pay for trade imbalance
    7. We do not believe in climate change so we will withdraw from the Paris deal.
    8. Coal is good energy so he will bring back coal
    9. He could commit murder and his followers would never abandon him (yikes)
    10. Just locker room talk...that is all folks.
    11. Tax cuts will benefit the middle class (rich people say hi, esp. if you own a plane, lol).
    12. Claiming he will release his taxes after becoming elected.

Successful impeachment will lead to his removal of office, Pence will take over, and we will proceed to the next election. The Right can raise and flap their arms around however demonstratively, I personally do not care, and if they want to say that Oh this is just the result of SOUR GRAPES from BEFORE he got sworn in, well, that is just ignoring the truth, and all the existing evidence thus far. If we did not have evidence of the Ukraine issue, we Leftists would have otherwise still continued to bemoan Trump as an individual, but given the evidence, the actual impeachment will be able to stand alone on Ukraine.

The President is the first politician ever to actually keep more promises than he made.

The results of the 2016 election: Trump wins a Presidential term that lasts 4 years.

Impeachment: Removal of Trump before Trump serves 4 years

    Therefore:
Impeachment is overturning the results of the election.

Not sure why that offends you so much.
You mean if Trump is impeached and removed from office then Hillary Clinton becomes president because that is what overturning the results of the 2016 election would mean. As was pointed out, trump being removed through impeachment would not change the fact that trump won the election with the help of Russia. Nothing will change the results of the election. The election is over. Saying Impeachment overturns the election is merely a right-wing talking point. I thought you smarter than this by your posting history. Either you're not or you've simply chosen to perpetuate this false narrative. Which is it?

i'm very confused by his line of reasoning
with his metric could Boehner and McConnell be accused of overturning Obama's elections?

I have said what I meant by it. You can ignore it and prop up some silly meaning behind "results" that no one is using, but it still doesn't change the fact that by removing Trump from office the results of the 2016 will be overturned.

You refuse to acknowledge how the term "results" is used when people are speaking. No one in their right mind thinks that impeachment means that the vote totals from 2016 are changed. It is very telling that that is your position as it shows the tendency to argue against strawmen
Maybe the people who are saying results when speaking should stop doing so. Maybe someone should tell them that the context they are trying to use it is incorrect. Just because someone is saying something stupid doesn't mean that the rest of us should accept it.

The President is the first politician ever to actually keep more promises than he made.

Could you list the promises kept?

If you copy/paste a list from somewhere, at least let us know whether or not you agree with the entire list.

    Tell that to Nadler:

The effect of impeachment is to overturn the popular will of the voters,” Nadler said on the House floor during the Clinton impeachment hearings, in footage unearthed by Grabien. "We must not overturn an election and remove a president from office except to defend our system of government or constitutional liberties against a dire threat, and we must not do so without an overwhelming consensus of the American people.”

Would the President still be from the Republican Party if Trump was removed?

Why would it be a Republican?

    because if the 2016 election.

The person who is president should Trump be removed was also chosen in the 2016 election, which clearly would not have been overturned or whatever word you decide better fits your narrative.

Geez, no one votes for a party in the United States. We vote for people. You can do better than that, can't you?

Not ignoring it. Just fighting through the wall of willful ignorance of the talking point that the results of the 2016 election will change somehow when trump is impeached. Nixon resigned. Did that change the result of his election? Was McGovern named president after Nixon resigned? No, because the election results were that Nixon won and his impending impeachment and subsequent resignation didn't change the result of the election. But you can go right ahead with your willful perpetuation of a right-wing talking point. You are engaging in willful ignorance and everyone can see it.

I probably could, but I don’t have to do any better than that to beat the point you were trying to make.

It's good to know that the NFL overturned the results of the NFC Championship game last year when they admitted that the officials on the field blew the call at the end of the game.
